Nice and out of the way

Nov 16th, 2019

If you are looking for a good hotel, NOT in the quarter this is a good choice. It is a full on Marriott with on-site garage. There is a health club attached if you want to pay a fee. Small workout room for hotel. Nice view of lake Pontchartrain. Rooms are older, but fine. Its a good location for Tulane students moving in. You can keep the car in the garage and have access when you need, NOT when valet decides. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice option for a stay in Metairie

Nov 8th, 2019

Be sure to get a lake view if you can higher than the 14th floor. This property is recently renovated with a a beautiful, open lobby, and nice outlets for food and beverage. Very convenient to all of the shops, malls, and restaurants in Metairie. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Views, But Rooms Needs Better TVs!

Oct 1st, 2019

Pros: 1. Ask for a room with the Lake Pontchartrain view, even if it costs a bit more -- it's worth it to have a super cool view like that when you're in the room. Even better if you can get a high level floor. Make that request known when you book or check in! 2. The hotel is right down the street from the Lakeside Mall (the popular NOLA mall) and plenty of close restaurants - It's a great location in Metairie. 3. The valet parking is $22 and there are unlimited in-and-out privileges. Since self-parking at the hotel is like $21 -- you might as well do the valet. That's common sense, folks. 4. Someone, my booking came with a free buffet breakfast (not sure how that happened, but I'm not complaining) -- The buffet was very good. I think guest should just pay the $14 for the buffet if it's not included in the room cost. There were hot choices and a variety of everything else, including taste french toast. 5. The staff was nice. Cons: 1. The rooms are nice, but a bit outdated. The rooms are due for a renovation in the next 3 years if it was up to me. 2. The television quality in the rooms was awful. I can't believe a Marriott hotel even allow televisions with such poor quality to be in their hotel rooms! It was weird and made every channel look like it airing a program from 1998 based on the poor quality. 3. When I checked out, i asked for a copy of my printed receipt and the receptionist spent about 15 minutes trying to print it. She said their computers are so old that they would randomly freeze up. That is unacceptable for a Marriott hotel -- please invest in some new computers. The poor receptionist was so flustered for making me late that she said, "I'll just email it to you. I hate this computer they give us here!" -- I don't blame her! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice stay on the lake

Sep 30th, 2019

Stayed recently for a quick trip. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Staff was helpful and food at the lobby bar was great. Easy access to causeway and short drive into the french quarter. Ask for a room with a lake view. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
