Fantastic Hotel, Five Star Quality at a Friendly Price
Nov 15th, 2020
On my very first trip to NYC, I stayed near La Guardia in Queens. I had no idea what to expect. The staff at this hotel set the tone and started my newfound LOVE of New York! The staff is beyond friendly. From the front desk to the restaurant (excellent food - the Rueben is outstanding) to the F&B (Sirdan is my man!) staff, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. The hotel managerJeff, and his wife Amanda, made a point of coming by during our seminar to introduce themselves and to make sure we had everything we needed. This was especially impressive when you understand that our function served less than thirty people over three days, while the hotel was also hosting a weeklong event featuring a major sports broadcasting network that took up several convention rooms on two floors and had hundreds of people in attendance! We were still treated like we were every bit as important. The guest rooms are beautiful, modern, and comfortable. The hotel is older, and because I stayed during COVID19, many amenities were unavailable or limited. Housekeeping was limited to every three days so I can't speak to that, I can only say that the room was sparkling on check-in. I would highly recommend this hotel for any event for business. I also think it would be beautiful for a wedding reception or a formal party! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

And a great staff. When I fly in and out of LGA, (not staying for any length of time in Manhattan), this is my hotel of choice. Check in was quick and easy. The front desk staff was professional and personable. My room was clean and nicely appointed. The food in the bar/restaurant is very good. I love their RUBEN sandwich is good and messy, like it should be. The Marriott club was closed the day I was there. The hotel offers a hassle free shuttle to/from LGA. Waiting for it, can be another story. Just remember to tip the driver. One thing that is worth noting, this hotel has a « 2 pipe system ». Which means it’s either heat or a/c. Once they switch over for the season, there is no going back. I always enjoy my stay here. I hope you enjoy yours! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A Good Stay

We were only there for one evening, spending the night between flights / airports, but enjoyed our stay and were happy with our rooms. They are up to "Marriott" quality. The service, particularly the front desk, was very helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not bad, very convenient

I’ve stayed in a lot of Marriott properties...this one is clearly older and could use some updates. Overall my stay was fine - the room was clean, staff was friendly. The tv didn’t work which was annoying, but for a one night stay not the end of the world. Staff was mixed in terms of wearing masks which surprised me. Location-wise, you can’t beat it if you want to be close to LaGuardia. It took me less than 15 minutes to catch the shuttle, arrive at the airport, get through security, and find my gate. I wasn’t thrilled to be traveling at this time but all in all this was a good value and great location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice hotel - terrible loud highway

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel for work. I picked this hotel because the first time I stayed there it was really awesome. Customer service was amazing and the room was ultra clean and comfortable. I must not have been on the side of the highway last time. This time, all I heard, all night for 3 nights were extremely loud cars and motorcycles. And I don’t mean just the regular highway noise, it’s like you are sleeping in the highway. And for two of the three nights there was drag racing going on. I looked out the window at 3am and stared in amazement at cars that had lights all over them glowing from the bottom. It was unbelievable. I did not sleep for 3 nights, and I sleep like a rock most of the time. I used to joke that I could sleep through a bomb going off— now I know all it takes is sleeping in the highway. I still think The hotel is good— just makes sure you refuse all rooms in the highway side. Ask for a map at check-in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
