Older but nice.

The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a shuttle service that will take you downtown and also pick you up. It's not actually that far to downtown and one day we walked from the hotel to downtown. If you stay in the section with balconies don't stay on the first floor (you can hear the people walking around in the room above you). They also have a breakfast buffet but it is not included in the price of the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our visit to the Nonantum was perfect. The resort is charming, the guest room was so attractive and comfortable, the breakfast each morning was wonderful, especially with the different daily offerings, the shuttle is a huge help and while we didn't participate in the many activities offered, there were excellent choices. Best of all, the staff is so helpful, friendly and attentive. We have nothing but accolades and were disappointed when our time at the Nonantum came to an end. If you haven't visited before, make a point to do so soon and often. You will be very pleased! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful resort. Staff in every area was friendly and professional! Kids area, cleaners, breakfast, check in, gift shop, pool, every single person was helpful and wearing a smile. What a pleasure! Would stay again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great resort for kids

I spent one night here with my teenage daughters and we had a blast! The resort is beautiful and well taken care of. The beds and linens were so comfortable! Our room had its own AC unit, which was nice on a humid night. We rented kayaks from the activity tent. It was only $30 for all of us ($10 per hour). We kayaked up the river. It was very beautiful and relaxing. They have many lawn games: volleyball, soccer, corn hole and ladder ball. The outdoor pools is small but heated. Nice that it was open until 10pm. At night they have a Bon fire with live music from 7:30-9:30pm. They even supply things to make s’mores. Wish we had more time to do other activities like rent bikes, paint night, lobster cruise and sunset cruise. Lastly, there was a free shuttle into town which was great. The shuttle is on call and took no more than 3 minutes to pick us up everything we called. The only think that was just okay was the breakfast. The buffet is $18 per person and it was a bit disappointing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Inexpensive, good for a weekend wedding stay
Jul 10th, 2019
I chose Nonantum for a wedding weekend that was close to the resort where the wedding took place and wasn’t going to break the bank. Nonantum is not a fancy hotel, but it has decent amenities and a nice view of the shore. Room was clean and simple, had a fridge and microwave and the other amenities you would expect; iron, hair dryer, etc. My only issue was with the bed itself; I have back issues and the bed was too firm. I get that many hotels choose firmer mattresses because they last longer, but I find myself wishing the option of a memory foam pad was available at hotels. The other issue was a lack of parking space, but there was a wedding going on at the resort itself, so it was pretty packed. Wound up parking on the grass. It’s a pretty decent walk to the town center and shops, so you may want to drive to town and park in the town lot. On the whole, not a bad choice for a budget weekend in Maine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
