Good location, but showing it’s age.

Dec 11th, 2019

Nice location about two blocks south of Regent’s Park. All of the staff were friendly. Like a lot of places in London it could use a new coat of paint and some updates. My WiFi only worked if I stood next to the door in my room, and the hot water was of variable pressure. Breakfast was included, in a small basement room, but nothing to write home about. There is a small attractive bar/lounge area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rude staff. Broken air-con. No hairdryer.

Oct 23rd, 2019

The middle-aged male front desk staff on the first night was impatient and complaining that I was causing him extra work to do when I asked for a change of room because the air-con was not working. The other room was better but the ventilation fan in the bathroom was very noisy the whole night to the extent that I could not sleep. There was no hairdryer in my room and the male staff was extremely rude and annoying when I suggested they buy some extras. He said they got some adapters for guests but got missing all the time, so he could not help with that. It was ridiculous of him to lose his temper and keep on arguing defensively. It should be the hotel's responsibility to ensure that guests have a good stay but not asking the guests to deal with the issues they do not want to solve. If I was not hurrying for an early train the next morning, I would have changed to another hotel - the room was expensive and cost over 150 pounds per night but the service and facility were very, very terrible and disappointing. The bed sheet was itchy while the curtains were full of dust. The shower enclosure was super small - I am quite slim but still had difficulty getting out of it. There was no lift so you had to carry your luggage upstairs. Remarks: The restaurant staff (a young man) was nice. The lady at the front desk the next evening was helpful too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely hotel, warm welcoming and clean

Great location, comfortable, clean rooms and friendly staff. Lost of restaurants nearby, easy walk to Oxford St and Tube. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Shower was lovely. The only thing was the double bed kept separating into two beds. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Work trip

Jul 9th, 2019

A mixed experience. On arriving, the receptionist said ‘the best thing about the hotel is the location’. Don’t think that’s wholly right as other good features - but it is in a great area of London and I was able to walk easily to my meetings. Also enjoyed the breakfast - cooked to order. Less good things were that decor seemed dated, and WiFi slow and erratic. In my room, there was a problem with shower fixture and air con didn’t work/limited windows I could open. So a hot and largely sleepless night. But quiet. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Tired

Jul 3rd, 2019

I'm just thankful it was only a 2 night stay as I dont think my 5'11" frame could have lasted another night with my feet up the wall!! I have never stayed anywhere in my adult life where lying in the foetal position was the only way you could comfortably lie. The bathroom was far from ideal too. Thankfully I'm of average build so could manoeuvre round the sink to the loo & shower, but heaven help anyone stocky!! The room was just really tired & dated. Not my best London hotel stay by a long shot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
