Did what was needed

Aug 20th, 2019

Overall the hotel and our stay was fine, but I have stayed in better Novotel hotels. The room was a little smaller than usual and bed seemed unusually hard/firm. Common areas were nice and modern but I thought the food was over priced for what it was and service was very slow. We had a hungry two year with us and it took about 45 mins from ordering for her food (a bowl of pasta) to arrive and even then that was only after I chased. Would definitely use Novotel again but not sure this one would be anywhere near the top of my list! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Part of road trip

Aug 17th, 2019

Stopped here to and from Tuscany. Lovely room , huuuuuge television, smashing pool and outside gardens, good parking. We booked meals online in advance. This caused staff problems on the way down but not the way back. Service in the evening was slow and the food variable . Breakfast was poor on the way down but great on the way back. Draft beer was great but expensive. A place of variable standards but a good location, nice check in arrangements, good parking and I would use again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic stopover

Aug 14th, 2019

Wanted somewhere 5-6 hours south of Calais as a stopover on our way further south. Found this gem, in SW Dijon, just off all major routes south (autoroute verte or A6) Recent refurb has given the place a fantastic lift. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Buffet breakfast was extensive, including cook your own eggs station. Outdoor pool was very welcome as was the outside space to enjoy drinks/food whilst overlooking the pool. Will definitely stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Stopover and more

Aug 14th, 2019

Really kind and attentive staff. Great facilities for the kids. Really good restaurant. Pool most welcome after 5 hour car journey. Easy to pop into Dijon and see sights. Simple diversion to access when heading South. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stopover en route from Italy

Aug 12th, 2019

We have stayed at this hotel annually en route from either Provence or Northern Italy for the last 12 years and have always loved it for the value for money/welcome/ambience and food. This review is difficult to write as there were things about the revamped hotel we just did not like although maybe not enough to change our usual stopover arrangements. I would give it 3.5 if I could. Firstly we were greeted with a riot of colour, a kind of IKEA selection of random tables and chairs, loads of kids running around and no clear idea of where reception was - it turned out to be a table in amongst all the others. The staff were efficient and pleasant but they were dressed as though they were working on a farm or in McDonalds. The overall effect was too “busy” and not very relaxing after a long motorway journey but I guess some people must like this. We had booked a flexi half board package and there was also some confusion from the reception staff as to what this entailed but this was eventually sorted out. This may be due to the fact that the restaurant has been updated and the menu changed as previously items were marked on the menu which were included in the half board package. Which brings me to my final point....the wonderful chocolate mousse has disappeared from the menu! This has been our “go to” dessert every year, making the homeward trip bearable - we were all very saddened to hear of its demise! A chocolate brownie is no substitute....please bring the mousse back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
