Great ne Re-Vamp

I have stayed at this hotel for the past 9 years and use it as a stop-over on our route from England to Samoens, France. The hotel has consistently provided an ideal stop over and allows us to break our otherwise long journey. The nes decor adds to the attraction of the hotel and the new bar layout allows a relaxing opportui=nity to relax in comfortable circumstances. I was however disappointed with the layout of the breakfast area . The cooked food area appears to be focussed in a corner area making long queues of guests waiting to access the food. The area was cramped and the food restricted to small bowls which were quickly emptied by guests but not refilled. Whilst several members of staff were clearing tables, there were long periods of time when no cooked food was available and no staff checking quantities. Placing the cooked food in larger trays in and area away from the corner would resolve the situation. I could see that other guests were annoyed but the lack of cooked food availabe. In fairness, it was a Saturday morning and there was an abundance of guests however, this should have been anticipated. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Pictures, rooms small and tired

Like pretty much everyone that stayed in the hotel not he night we were there, we were transients, driving from the UK to the Alps. We booked the hotel as somewhere to get our heads down after a long day in the car. Traffic was a shocker, so we arrived later than planned. Bar was just shutting and the restaurant had already closed. No matter, we had food with us, so we didn't go hungry. The reception and bar areas are modern and have obviously had a recent facelift. I wish I could say the same for the rooms. We booked a family room for two adults and two kids and actually got what would be a standard Double room with another bed in it. To make matters worse, the air-conditioning didn't work, so we basically slow-roasted for the night. Breakfast int he morning was bizarre. Families trying to get their food down and hit the road. But the breakfast stations were chaotic. You had to fry your own eggs on a hotplate that was spitting out hot oil and had no fan above it. There were no protective gloves or other implements. It struck me as a health and safety accident in the making. Positive is that you could fill your boots before hitting the road. Location is on the edge of an industrial estate, so do go their for the views. There are several hyper-markets close by to stock up on supplies. I also noticed several 'Cheaper' hotels near the supermarkets, so if you really fancy going low budget when driving to the Alps, it is possible!! Can't guarantee what you are going to get, and frankly I wouldn't as I kind of like my sleep, but, as I said, you can do an overnight stop without breaking the bank. Question is, would I stay again? Probably, but I would book two rooms rather than one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location is fine, not far from the motorway. The room was quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant. A good stop between Northern Spain and The Netherlands. We would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We recently visited here as part of a group and were disappointed by the lack of basic organisation by the hotel and by our own organisers. Room mix ups were the least of our worries as the following morning breakfast service was a total shambles. 7.00am and at least 2 separate coach parties turned up for breakfast at the same time resulting in total frustration for the paying guests. The staff understandably could not cope with the amount out of people at one time, plates could not not be cleared and food was not replenished. Staggering these breakfast sittings would have prevented such chaos and frustration. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Excellent stop over

On the way to the Mediterranean, this is a great location for a stop over... just a few more hours until the sun :-) The hotel appears to have been recently renovated, as the lobby and restaurant feature the new Novotel look. Really nice, and staff was really friendly and welcoming. As to the rooms: renovated and in very good state. The bathroom has now an excellent shower. Only negative: seems the ventilation in our bedroom was not 100%. We only tried the restaurant for breakfast which was food as expected. Loads of other chain restaurants around as your are in the middle of a typical french suburban shopping/commercial area. Outside seemed to have quite some potential in the summer, with a big terrace, a swimming pool and toys for the kids... not tested as we were here in December ;) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
