Public area and rooms huge difference

Feb 25th, 2020

Public area is cool and stylish the staff is very very friendly - one maybe French guy, glasses, beard (unfortunately I couldn’t see his name I’m sorry) is very personal friendly he gives the guests the feeling as he saw them a lot of times before. Rooms are ok basic and simple unfortunately a bit dirty. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A lovely stay

Feb 24th, 2020

The welcome by Anjilla was fantastic, we were the family of the day and upgraded to a suite with haribo and crisps hidden all throughout the room. Small soft toys for our 2 & 5 year olds went down very well. 25% off in the restaurant solved the decision of where to go for supper which we and our 2 children greatly enjoyed. Our 2 year old was given a full high ball glass of apple juice which unsurprisingly went everywhere before we had the chance to remove it but the staff were great and helped clear up and got us another without extra charge. The location was great so we went on a post dinner walk by the Thames which was very picturesque. Other reviews have mentioned this but the see through showers mean you have to know your group well and no one can be bashful and they could do with better drainage... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staff amazing

Feb 24th, 2020

I’ve stayed here a few times for work but when I turned up last in December there was a little Biscuiteers gift waiting for me (they make delicious biscuits for special events). Was a lovely surprise but the reception staff at this hotel are always so friendly and helpful. Great breakfasts too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Suite not family friendly

Feb 22nd, 2020

Spent a night at this hotel for a family long weekend. We stayed in the suite which had apparently been recently done up. No complaints about the decor which was nice and fresh, two rooms, two huge TVs, Nespresso and a fridge. The elephant in the room was the shower cubicle which was definitely not family friendly. The mirror glass was fairly transparent which meant anyone could see into the shower if the lights were on. Reception claimed there was a switch to make the glass black out but I was not able to find this mythical switch anywhere. There was also no towel hook in the shower cubicle anywhere, so nobody had a shower. I’m frankly quite annoyed that I paid a lot for a suite with a shower that could not be used. Why on earth would anyone think it’s ok for a multiple occupancy room to have a transparent shower? Think again Novotel. Breakfast was good, so that was a consolation. We enjoyed our south bank walking, it’s a very good location for a weekend away. London Bridge station is about 14 min walk and you can go through Brough market experiencing all the sights and smells. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
