Lovely hotel at a reasonable price

Jul 11th, 2019

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night as we were meeting up with friends from Australia. Easy check in and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, just around the corner from Tower Hill Station. We stayed in room 637 which was perfect, lovely big shower, good size room and very clean. There is a nespresso coffee machine and kettle for drinks in your room, toiletries were also supplied. Breakfast is buffet style and very adequate. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Location excellent, staff friendly but weird bathroom arrangements

Jul 9th, 2019

You cold not get a better location just behind London Tower, almost next door to tower hill underground station and less than 10 minutes from tower bridge pier and Tower Bridge. A great location to explore the historic parts of London and situated in Zone 1 for the underground. I know its modern but I dislike the reception being someone with a laptop at a table but that said the staff were great and as we were celebrating an anniversary we got a free pudding delivered. The breakfast was excellent. My only issue is the fact that the sink is in the bedroom and not part of a separate bathroom. I know this is the new “modern” way of doing things but I dislike it. The walls for the shower are see through which again is poor. Who decided that people want to shower and wash in the full glare of their other partners. I bet they are not married !. Bathroom in the Bedroom!!

Jul 1st, 2019

We recently completed a stay at the Novotel Tower Bridge. The location is great as it is close to the office and also the tube station as well as The Tower of London and the hop on-hop off bus services. Generally we found the hotel to be OK, not 4 Star as described but OK. The main issue I have and is the reason we would not stay again is the hotel does not accurately describe its rooms nor does it accurately put photos of the rooms on the website. The bathrooms are in the same room as the bedroom, not walled off but right there. The shower stall is see through so no privacy and the toilet does not even have door that fully closes. I and my family found this to be very poor and disturbing as if someone gets up in the night to use the facilities, the flush (and other noises) wake everyone in the room. The room also had no drawers, something I find to be a basic requirement - we ended up stacking clothes on clothes in a pile, not what I want when paying almost GBP 1900 for 4 nights! I feel Novotel should be more honest in describing the rooms and allow people to make informed decisions as once you are there the likelihood is there is little option to go elsewhere. The staff also all have English as their second language, it seems most are from Eastern Europe, which is fine, however, describing things you need can be tiresome and never be understood. The hotel is also quite pricey for what it is. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location

Jun 25th, 2019

Stayed for 3 nights in June and was pleased to be upgraded from a standard to an executive room on the strength of out loyalty scheme membership. 7th floor room with a view of the Tower of London complete with Nespresso machine. King bed changed for 2 twins without fuss. Great rainfall shower, room clean and tidy. The upgrade gave us a free drink in the bar - house wine but quite drinkable. We didn’t eat in the hotel but prices seemed reasonable. Friendly staff. Very convenient for Tower Hill tube and Fenchurch st station. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall disappointing

Jun 23rd, 2019

There were so many things broken in our room and we had to tell the kind but clueless "front desk" so many times that after a while it was ridiculous. They did offer us a free drink voucher in good faith, but really-just maintain the rooms better! My husband's allergies were so bad and we even switched rooms as we had two rooms...still no relief-dust perhaps? We had to chase down the housekeeper 3 out of the 6 nights we were there just to clean the rooms and one day, it was completely overlooked. There is no smoking in the hotel and twice there were cigarettes in the bathroom and the smell of smoke. Not sure of security there as well because they did not check who was going in and out of the small elevators. We even misplaced our key at one point and they didn't even ask my husband for ID? Disappointing as we had read many positive reviews...would not stay here again and would encourage others to stay elsewhere...not worth it! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
