Beautiful - tremendous view

Jul 21st, 2019

We stopped in for dinner on the veranda and the views were terrific. Water and beautiful homes surround the hotel. Valet only for non hotel guests was inexpensive. There is a dress code, but we didn’t meet it and they couldn’t have been nicer. Food was delicious and pricey (but not outrageous). $14.00 pour of wine was more like a 1/2 glass but that’s our only miss. Glad we stopped. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not as shiny

Jul 20th, 2019

The Ocean House was a little less shiny than it had been in previous visits. Prices have gone up and service has gone down. The beach is as lovely as ever and many employees are exemplary. However, overall, I got a sense that they just don’t care that much. And while it’s wonderful that they welcome families, if wailing infants bother you this may not be the place for you. I used to think OH rivaled The Four Seasons— not anymore. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My dog wouldn’t eat their food 🐶

Jul 19th, 2019

Okay, here’s the problem...Wonderful accommodations with immaculate attention to deal; however, the ocean house has one giant problem and that is with the food. The food unfortunately is simply atrocious. No matter which location on the premises, it doesn’t matter, all the same restaurants have the same poor quality. The prices are NYC high $20’s to $30’s for entrees. Yet they are not even close to the quality of what the prices should indicate. I think they get away with it because there are really very few options nearby and people put up with it. No one should spend $30 for an entree and find it on par with Friday’s and Applebee’s. Once again, amazing hotel/accommodations/service. Terrible food. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing, never seen service like this

Jul 19th, 2019

Ocean House is in a class of its own. I have never seen service whereby the room cleaners leave a bookmark for every book and a screen wipe for every device. And then there was the free mercedes we took for a days outing to Newport, they have a fleet fueled up and ready to go. We stayed for a long weekend during the winterstorms, and "unfortunately" were forced to stay an extra night when bad weather interupted our travel plans- what a hardship. Given the weather we spent a lot of time just enjoying the hotel, but we did get outsidte for a nature walk at the sister Weekapaug Inn, and a tour of the locality. Can not recmmend it highly enough. The lap of luxury

Jul 19th, 2019

The building and grounds are simply gorgeous. Lunch on the veranda is gracious and breezy with good service and a small but nice menu. The short rib sandwich and the grilled veg panini are good. The lobster roll, at $28, should be better. If you stay at the hotel, the beach pavilion is a wonderful place for lunch. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
