SOBE Family Vacation

The rooms are spacious, clean and provide a very good breakfast, South beach is a few minutes walk, perfect to access the beach and also far enough to stay away from the noise of Ocean Drive, Some rooms (ours was 412) do not have a great view as it is of the next door building and their bins and although I was not overly fussed, my family did all comment on how firm all mattresses were, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
I was optimistic, but...

First, I rarely leave bad reviews, and I do not think that I am overly critical. I do my research on places before I stay, and this hotel seemed pretty solid for my price range, so I booked it through Booking.com. I walked into my room, sat my stuff down on the bed, and started unpacking. I was going to be there for just a night, but I needed to reorganize for my flight the next day, I put my hand down on the bed runner and it was wet. The spot was away from my luggage (and I had JUST sat my stuff down), but I checked anyway - nothing leaked. I asked if I could get the sheets changed and was told by the guy at the front desk that he was the only one working and couldn’t do it. He gave me a change of sheets. I went to change the sheets and found that my replacement sheets had stains all over them. I went back down to the front desk. Someone else was working, and he apologized and gave me another set of sheets. I went back up to my room and realized he didn’t give me a new fitted sheet. The mattress protector underneath was stained, too. I gave up at this point and ended up sleeping like I was in a sleeping bag with the heavier sheet. I put a T-shirt over my pillowcase just to be sure. I just felt really gross the whole time I stayed there. There was also a mysterious brown spot on the bathroom wall. I had to pay a $100 refundable damage deposit, which I haven’t yet gotten back. I stayed 8/8-8/9, so hopefully calling will help. Not feeling very hopeful though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed here for 2 nights before boarding a cruise ship, and I must say that this is not what I am used to. For starters, I had just removed a brace from my foot from a minor surgical procedure. After checking in, I found out that there are no elevators. You have to drag your luggage up the stairs. There is also no swimming pool at the hotel. I'm not too fond of beaches because they're usually so crowded, but I had no alternative since there's no pool. Continental breakfast was included, but there was no dining area. You had to come down with a tray that was left in your room to pick up the breakfast and bring it back to your room. Despite all of this, the rooms are very clean and spacious. Going forward, I prefer to arrive in Miami on the day of the cruise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The rooms were surprisingly big. The separating wall allowed for some privacy. Hotel and rooms were very clean. The staff was superb. It did not matter who was at the front desk or helping with the breakfast bar, they were very helpful and always had a smile on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was staying in that hotel. Tje accomodation was very confortable. Cause of it is not a boutique hotel. Ots npt a normal boring hotel. I mean os like staying in an apartment but at the same time in a hotel with imcluded breakfast. The rooms are very confortable with kitchen. Freezer and electric owen. Very nice TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
