Best location, Good value for money, Helpful Staff, Valet Parking (Paid). Highly recommended

LOCATION - is just amazing! Couldn't be any better. Muscle beach is barely a five minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping, pharmacy etc. within walking distance STAFF - is very helpful. They answered all the questions/requests patiently. Helped with requets we made. We asked for an electric hob as our 1year old fell ill and we wanted to cook something at our room, which already had a kitchenette with some utensils ROOM- It was good size. We had a super king bed, and a sofa/bed convertible. Room had space for cot as well for the baby (cot provided by them. There was a dinning table with 4 bar chairs as well, very useful as breakfast area didn't have any seating and people would take breakfast to their rooms in a large tray that was provided FACILITIES in the ROOM - There was a decent sized kitchen attached to the room with a basin, MICROWAVE, cupboards and basic utencils. VERY USEFUL when travelling with baby/kid. An electric hob was also available on request, to cook baby food in the room BREAKFAST - Breakfast had basic selection of pastries, bread, juices, fruits and yogurt but keeping the cost and the location in mind, it was good to have breakfast availabe. It was put next to the reception which was a small area, but people were given large trays to take everthing to their rooms, that already had 4-people dinning tables, so it was all good. Best part of breakfast was WAFFLES, to be made by guests using a do-it-yourself waffle maker. Staff was also available to help with the waffle maker. However, whenever we travel to US, we like to go out for breakfast to nearby best-rated american breakfast diners, and that's what we did on two out of three mornings PARKING - It is the most central place on Miami Beach, and hence parking is scarce and expensive. We opted for valet parking which is a little more expensive than street and municipal parking 0.3 miles away, but so much more convenient. Costed $80 for 3 days, unlimited access. I'd highly recommend paying for valet. Because otherwise you'd spend time looking for parking spots most of the time. With Valet, there are 2-3 spots right outside the hotel and across the road, where you can just park and hand over the key to valet staff or hotel reception and they will take the car to an offsite parking. When you need the car back, you need to call reception half an hour before you need the car and they will get the car from offsite parking back to those parking spots right outside. My sister tried to cancel when we had a death in the family of an immediate family member. The hotel showed no sympathy and just referred us to the third party website. It truly is devastating not even trying to help reschedule to another day. Don't book here! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Driver’s license not returned

Dec 30th, 2019

Be very careful to get your drivers license back. They didn’t give it back to me, even when we checked out (didn’t realize this until we were on a cruise). Called and asked for them to mail it. I’ve checked twice and they indicate they just mailed it both times. I’m afraid they’ve done something unethical with it, beware! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Warm welcome

The hotel location is great, close to the beach, great for a simple stay in south beach, nothing fancy but with all the basic needs. The staff was truly helpful when we needed them and nice, specially Kenny and Fabiola at the reception desk who both made our stay wonderful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A gem of a hotel!

Dec 3rd, 2019

I always look for reasonably priced hotels when we go to Miami Beach - preferrably on Collins Ave.because of the short distance to Ocean Drive. I found Ocean Reef Suites on the net, and booked 2 rooms for two nights as we were travelling with relatives. The hotel was nice, clean and inviting, and with a great location on Collins Ave 1130. We arrived a bit early, and the man in the reception tagged our luggage and locked it away for us. After a couple of hours we went back, and having taken a stroll on the beach, I asked if he knew the price of the sunbeds. To my surprice, he said that they were included in the room price along with beach towels. He went on to tell me that the breakfast was included, all the tea and coffee we wanted was included - even the shutlle bus to the airport was included! Add to that the fact that the rooms were very nice, beds were great and there was even a small kitchen in the room and you have 4 happy campers! There is no doubt in our minds where we will stay the next time - and staying there once apparently meant we would get one night for free next time! Thanks to Kenny who helped us with several questions and assistance with luggage. We'll be back!! :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
