Great location, good value, but small rooms without storage space

Jun 12th, 2019

This is our 5th stay at Old Santa Fe Inn, and probably won't be the last, as long as we aren't staying more than 2 nights. The public spaces are beautiful. The breakfast and other snacks during the day are quite good. My husband really likes the burrito bar. Staff are pleasant. The location is outstanding, very close to the Plaza with ample free parking. We stayed in the small standard room this time, in the old section by choice. The price was very reasonable, But the room was tiny and there is no place to unpack. There is a closet and you can hang up a couple of items but nothing long or bulky because most of the space is taken up with a safe that can't be moved. The night stands have a tiny drawer but otherwise there are no drawers and no place to put your bag except on the bed. So we had to open and close our bags twice a day and then stash them on a chair or in the closet on top of the safe. I really don't know how someone staying several days could manage in this standard room, and the Kiva rooms are the same. There was a particular additional problem with our second floor room. It looked over the hotel rooftop with all the HVAC equipment. I didn't object to the view (mountains visible in the distance), but all night, the machines revved up, then quieted, then revved up again. It was very unpleasant and ruined my sleep. I would not stay in that room again. As for my overall rating, it is better than average but not really very good any more. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

great location in town - great place to stay

Jun 10th, 2019

I have to preface this with a disclaimer - I did a 14 night road trip through AZ & NM - 9 different hotels - so I can not be exact - all I Know is I did not have a bad experience at any of them (but I want them to get credit with a good review) - all were safe - varying degrees of quietness (depending on the in room a/c which i didn't use that much anyhow because of the weather) - I never really experienced road noise in any of them - they were all clean - i do remember this place specifically as the best night sleeps on the whole trip - i wanted a non chain place in santa fe to 1) be in the middle of town & 2) experience the santa fe ambience afforded by a local inn --- this succeeds on both counts -- the breakfast burritto bar was a bit underwhelming but all in all a great place to stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Long weekend escape

Jun 8th, 2019

Our room was well appointed and roomy (had to have help to find fireplace switch). The only issue we had was being in a unit close to street where they were doing a bit of maintenance. The breakfast had several choices, hot and cold. This hotel is easy walking distance to plaza, restaurants, shopping, and activities(2-3 blocks). While in Santa Fe be sure to check out the Meow Wolf museum, and Taos is a scenic drive that is worth the trip (both for the drive and The Taos Pueblo). Take the High rd. one way and the Low rd. the other way. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old Santa Fe Inn a great place

Jun 7th, 2019

We stayed here several nights and found it quiet and affordable. It has a good breakfast included in the price. Our room was lovely. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location allowed us to walk to a restaurant we really wanted to visit and to easily get to Starbucks (even though the hotel had coffee and breakfast) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great choice for Santa Fe

Jun 6th, 2019

This hotel was a real gem. The staff is extraordinary as was the property. Our room had a fireplace, balcony, and a jetted tub. Breakfast was delicious each day, especially the burrito bar, a nice change from the usual hotel fare. Although the room was the star of the hotel, the location was also excellent. It is located just on the edge of Old Town away from the tourist crush in the center, but an easy 6 minute walk to the action around the Plaza. Restaurants were within easy walking distance as well.
