Noisy area, mediocre service

Nov 15th, 2019

Even on the 15th floor, I could hear the noise from the bars or the trucks backing up for service to the hotels. Don’t stay on the Epicenter side if you want even a chance at a quiet room. Big impersonal hotel and my last stay with Omni TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Room, Sagging Mattress

Nov 9th, 2019

I chose the Omni for its great location close to the Spectrum Center. We had a spacious room with two queen beds. The bench under the window is wonderful. It’s hard to find a good seat in a hotel room. But when I laid down in the bed, I was so uncomfortable. I tried the other side of the mattress, but it was the same soft sagging feeling. Having a tight back, I worried most of the night. I finally used the blanket on top of the bed and put it on the mattress. I tried to change rooms the next day, but the hotel was fully booked. The next day I woke up with back spasms! I made it home flying on pain killers, then to my physical therapist and acupuncturist. Time to invest in some new mattresses! We loved the breakfast buffet, delicious! Friendly service and easy checkout. One can use the private gym, but no massage therapist available. Plenty of shops and healthy breakfast and lunch places to eat and a Walgreens for Bottled water and Aleve. It’s all covered! Take a room on the back side. There is a nutty guy screaming about religion standing on a big junction close to the hotel. Drove me nuts trying to take a nap. He quit around 10 pm. Freedom of speech. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Urban Noise from Hell, Great Food Service

Nov 8th, 2019

Endless sirens, trains, bass from a club nearby til after 2am, crazy loud people in the halls and neighbors who were enjoying themselves intimately were loud and clear, because the walls are so thin. The noise machine in our room to drown out those noises didn’t work. I chased the cord to the outlet. I slept 2.5 hours that night, in part due to the noise and due to the sunken middle of the bed. We used pillows in between us to keep from rolling into each other. (I’m in my 40’s and like to have a good time, so this isn’t written by some 80 year old grumpy old man.) The In-Room Service was prompt and accurate. The bar service was prompt and accurate. All of the food was surprisingly hot, which was a nice unexpected experience. The rest of the staff was basically apathetic, but nice. No real feel of wanting to return, like so many other Omni hotels we’ve stayed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Omni located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, NC

Nov 4th, 2019

Omni is located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, NC. Walking distance to many clubs and restaurants. We stayed at the Omni for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The staff made special accommodations for our anniversary with an upgrade to our suite and romantic turn down service. It was a pleasure staying at the Omni. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not for business travelers!

Nov 4th, 2019

I’ve always heard good things about the Omni and certainly it’s in a great location, although noise from Epicenter is bad in summertime. But the rooms were designed to photograph well, NOT for functionality. First, the room is DARK. There’s a sofa, but forget about reading there, the light is so bad. Then there’s the bath. No fan and only one very cool looking LED light BEHIND the mirror! The shower is ridiculously dark. And only one person can be in bathroom at a time and it’s still a tight fit. No full length mirror! I’ve never been in a hotel room without a full length mirror! The “work desk”: no task lamp, dining chair instead of task chair. Nice TV, clean, comfortable, but I’ll never stay here again.
