Our son and fiancé are staying in Corpus during the pandemic and we wanted to see them. Chose the OMNI based upon discussion with hotel employee and choices available.. #1 Location is great #2 Hotel was booked to capacity 7/22. There were people everywhere. No Social Distancing. Pool, Jacuzzi were crowded. (viewed from balcony), Welcome gift was a single towelette and one mask to share. The worst part was that the Carpets felt Dirty, the room smelled Musty. Fortunately we brought our own sleeping bag liners which acted like a cocoon. #3 This hotel is VERY tired. Probably has not been updated in 20 plus years. Bottom line the Omni did or didn't do what was required or advertised. Will not be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Omni Corpus Christi is beautiful hotel over-looking the sea wall

Jul 6th, 2020

This Omni is quite beautiful. The lobby and 2nd level to Glass Pavillion; bar; weight room; and pool entry are really pretty. We had a standard king room on the 11th floor which had a small balcony with a great view of the bay and we could see the USS Lexington. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. There is an empty mini fridge. Also, there is a special built-in for the coffee maker and desk top storage. The shower is a tub surround with shower curtain . Fortunately, the extra large shower head was great. And especially appreciated the "softened" water. There are 2 Egyptian cotton robes in the room. I usually shun room robes because they are made of hot terrycloth. The cotton robes, however, were pure luxury. We loved the Glass Pavillion restaurant (on level 2). Excellent breakfast menu. Ice machine was next to elevators. No laundry facilities. There is an indoor hot tub and the pool begins inside and extends outside. The front of the hotel faces a beautiful boulevard with a sea wall. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not the quality expected from the name Omni

Jun 27th, 2020

Not at all worthy the brand Omni Hotel. The sheets are of the same quality as a Super 8 or Days Inn. The 8th floor literally smells like a decaying corpse is on the floor. 2 of the 4 pillows in our room (859) were stained orange. The coffee in the room is very low budget and the plastic lids left for us had old coffee residue on them so I’m guessing they were used. The A/C return is covered in what we hope is merely dust but it may include mold. The In-room entertainment is merely a tv with a cable package that is barely above a basic level. The walls are covered with boogers, other type of stains, and tears in the vinyl. The room doors have either had previous graffiti which they’ve tried to cover up or they tried to cover up some scratches instead restraining the entire door. The elevator’s hall doors are nasty and haven’t been wiped down in what appears to be years yet the Hotel claims to have sanitized every surface we are going to touch... lies! The garage elevator sounds like it is some sort of chopping machine and very old. We will NOT be coming back to this dump. Next time, I’ll save $100/ night and stay at the Days Inn or Best Western. They do have great parking, views, and pool. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel, very busy

Jun 15th, 2020

We visited the second weekend of June, 2020, and I couldn't believe how packed it was despite the ongoing pandemic. Getting an elevator was a nightmare, always a long wait and packed with stranger. Rooms were nice, but older. There was no way to completely shut out light from street lights outside which made it hard to sleep. No hotel fridge for beverages. The staff was nice, the pool was open with the hotel bar serving cold beverages, and it's a good location close to the water. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Most overrated hotel in Corpus

Jun 14th, 2020

We travel to Corpus several times a year to visit family and this weekend my husband decided to treat me by booking us a beach view room at this hotel. We had previously only ever been here to eat at the Republic restaurant, which is incredible dining though very very pricey. On arrival at the hotel we noticed that the valet stand was not out front. Eventually an employee came out and informed us that due to Covid they were not offering valet service. Fair enough, but then he also informed us that their parking garage is full and that we’d have to park in their overflow lot. This is an uncovered, unsecured gravel lot a block down from the hotel. Given that we paid over $225 a night for the hotel and that downtown Corpus is not known as the safest place to park, we were far from happy with this, but no other options were presented. We were given a room on the tenth floor and had to wait in line for several minutes for the elevators. On entering the room I found it small, given that we were told it was a one of their “superior” beach view rooms, and the decor was underwhelming. We went straight to the balcony to check out the view. Yes we had a beach view but the balcony was very narrow and didn’t have any chairs so we couldn’t sit out and enjoy it. When we came back into the room we discovered that the AC wasn’t running either and it was quite hot in the room. There was a sign above the thermostat that said when you open the balcony door the AC will not run. We closed the door and after 10 mins it still wasn’t coming on. We started pressing buttons on the thermostat, kept checking the door and eventually my husband discovered that there were contacts in the door and unless you closed it just right the AC would come on. So much for us using the balcony!! The bedding is clearly quite old, not very comfortable nor stylish and all our pillows are so flat that we’re folding them over just to try to get comfortable. The bathroom was adequate but again quite dated. The room did appear to be clean. Oh and the best part about the beach view...on Saturday night you get to listen to young punks drag race up and down the road after midnight while you’re trying to sleep!! I will not be staying here again. Completely over priced for what you get. We stayed at Hilton’s in other parts of town that were nicer, more comfortable, provided a much better sleep, and are an overall better value, at $100 a night less! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
