Excellent place to stay

This is a must stay! Right on the River Walk - very convenient to walk to places. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful. The atmosphere was incredible. One of the most comfortable beds we've slept on. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nothing like I expected

Location: obviously amazing in the heart of the riverwalk area but there are many others with the same perk. Hallways are extremely hot & uncomfortable. Elevators plain & simply are too slow. If you plan run in & out during a busy day to & from the hotel - book a lower floor room. You can easily lose and hour+ of your day it seems just waiting on elevators. The hotel was smaller than it looks on the outside. Very very nice hotel but very weird as much as it nice. If you stay on the disconnected building from the lobby - you will feel no inimate connection to the hotel or to the staff since you don't walk through the lobby. You just walk into the hallways and straight to the slow elevator than straight to your room. Usually lobbies are a huge appeal for my wife & I. We found it awkward but easier to walk out of the front of the hotel and around to the riverwalk rather than walking through the hotel itself based on where the elevator is. again a very weird quirky design we were not expecting. We will bechecking out the Hyatt Regency next time with many more eating / drinking options and much much nicer & airy lobby. Would rate the hotel overall a 5/10 experience only due to location. If was at the end of the Riverwalk or close by the El Tropicano this hotel would be absolutely nothing special at all. I always considered this "the hotel on the riverwalk". I had my eyes on this hotel for over 15 years due to the beautiful lighting & architecture on the outside and after finally staying there, I could easily go another 15 years without returning. First class service with an affordable rate! From the moment you pull in to valet, you are treated like you are the only guest in this hotel. Go to the front desk to check in, friendliest service I've ever experienced. Went to the beautiful room, was GREAT, but just a little small for my family. Back to the front desk, and they put me in a room that worked for me! The bar was very chill and comfortable. All around AWESOME customer service and cleanliness beyond measure. Every time we come to San Antonio, no matter what we're doing here, we are coming back to Omni!!! No question. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good if your priority is location

Aug 17th, 2019

Stayed here for a birthday celebration, I always do my research when booking hotels and based on the reviews it seemed like a good choice. We planned on bar hopping so we did not want to drive so something on the riverwalk was a priority. We had to park about a block away because there was limited vehicle height which was not an issue for us. I prefer more modern and updated hotels but for the price I was willing to give it a try, definitely more of a rustic feel compared to other hotels around. Our room was facing the pool on the second floor which if you plan to have any view is a bummer, very clean room though. Overall an good experience but if you plan to stay for a couple days or if it’s your first time visiting the riverwalk I would definitely consider getting a room with a balcony facing the river unless you want a quitter room then I would ask for a room facing the pool. If you’re like me and you prefer more modern hotels with higher floor options then this is not for you but if you have no preference then this is a good choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
