Great Staff, Great Location, Poor cleanliness

Jun 13th, 2019

Staff were great upon checking in, very friendly and helpful. Got into my room put my bags down and went for a bite to eat, plenty of restaurants along the river walk within 5 minutes walk. When I got back I pulled the bed cover away I realised the sheet was covered in dark hairs and their was a stain on the sheet, not really what I was looking for after a long day! Go back to reception and tell the staff, they were very apologetic and upgraded me to a Riverside room, was all handled very well and quickly! Breakfast is not included and I believe you only get 3mb of WiFi as a guest... Maybe I'm expecting too much from 4 star hotels! Overall would definitely check out other hotels if I ever pass through again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice colonial style river walk hotel

Jun 13th, 2019

Had a great weekend getaway at this wonderful hotel. It’s a beautiful historic building with a nice colonial style. It’s perfectly located on the river walk. Do be aware that you can see inside rooms on the first floor ( a high traffic area that leads to the restaurant and pool) because of the glass doors with sheer curtains. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A “Pedestrian” La Mansion del Rio in San Antonio

Jun 11th, 2019

Once upon a time, prior to Omni’s takeover of this privately run hotel (approximately 10-12 years ago), La Mansion del Rio on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, was a fabulous property and run very well. It was, indeed, a high end property. It is no longer (& has not been for several years). My wife & I live merely an hour away, but we have frequently stayed there for our anniversary. Last year, my experience and room were so disappointing that we vowed to never stay there again. We gave it one last chance this year at more than $500 for the 1 night (no incidentals included, just the room & tax). It was very disappointing again. I told the hotel manager that obviously there was nothing they could do as the hotel was catering now to a mid-level set of patrons. In fact, it is catering to a “family friendly” pedestrian level of clients with the requisite groups of children running all around the lovely pool area and the hotel. That is absurd with even some rooms at this price level. This property was, at one time, a luxury property, and run that way. It is no longer; it is now a very pedestrian hotel in desperate need of a multi-million dollar renovation. And this so saddens me, because we had the extreme pleasure of staying here when it was a fabulously run historic and luxury property on the best part of the riverwalk. Until Omni upgrades this historic property and manages it much better, stay somewhere else. Hotel Emma & the St. Anthony Hotel are just a couple of much better options. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not impressed

Jun 11th, 2019

Do not recommend staying here. Room was small and dark. No information was given to acquaint me with the facility or what it offered. Room was on 5th floor facing pool area and kids and adults were noisy until midnight. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Exquisite! Magnificent!

What a beautiful Omni Location! Besides minimal trouble we had with the small tv in our room, everything was absolutely perfect. This location is a jewel in the crown of San Antonio! We will be back very soon to enjoy this location again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
