Live in a history

Awesome historical hotel - the longest continuously operating in the USA. Despite its great age, it’s perfectly maintained. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. There is a restaurant offering delicious food and a gift shop where you can find souvenirs to bring home (the tea I bought there turned out to be surprisingly good). The hotel is located very convenient - mere steps from Freedom Trail and some of its stops, from Boston Common and Public Garden parks, from many shops, cafes and restaurants. I hope to return to Boston and to this hotel some day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Over priced There was an empty water bottle all three days I stayed, that was there when I got there, it did not get picked up. Also, I don't quite understand why the room was not cleaned up the first day. Maybe because I had trouble with having my company providing a credit card for incidentals. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Lovely Traditional Hotel in a great Location
Mar 11th, 2020
I came to this hotel with a friend for an event run by a women's service organization to which we both belong. The hotel lobby is lovely, lots of dark panel wood and traditional paintings. There is a bar up a short flight of stairs from the lobby, as well as a lovely upscale restaurant called the Parker House. The restaurant is excellent but has a limited menu and is not inexpensive, but you might expect that in any big city hotel. Service was very good. . Check in which had been completed oinline, was fast and painless. My friend Valet parked her car, for which there is a fee I believe. I am not certain of the cost. The elevator works fast, given there are 15 floors. The room walls and floors looked a tad dated but then the building is rather old. Bathroom was updated and very clean. But tub sides very tall, which made getting safely out of the tub a challenge. The beds were comfortable. My quibble with the room had to do with the heat system, an individually controlled room unit. It was either too hot or too cold and that was hard to regulate. Fortunately little time was spent in the room. Paul Revere House is less than a mile walk away from the hotel, which is situated about a block from the Old Granary Cemetery, where Paul Revere and a few other historic figures are buried. Great, fun city to visit. Worth it. Great location from which to access some famous sites. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
I haven't stayed here, nor will I.

I don't understand why I would be charged a $20/day fee for bottled water, wifi and local calls. My Omni rewards already gives me water and wifi and I have a phone. Seems like a sleazy way to up charge. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A lovely traditional hotel with very friendly staff

This was an unexpected surprise - a lovely traditional hotel in all respects - will definitely return. Staff is exemplary - very friendly and couldn't do enough to be helpful plus my room was both extremely comfortable and was huge. The location is an added plus - right in the middle of old Boston - opposite the King's Chapel (founded in 1686) and close to the old City Hall; walking down School Street every morning was a delight.
