Fans of the Omni brand will be pleasantly surprised by its Puerto Aventuras outpost. Unlike many city-based Omni properties, which often tout a classy, business-friendly vibe, this 30-room resort inspires anything but the desire to work. Overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the Omni Puerto Aventuras Beach Resort welcomes guests to spacious rooms with tile floors, wooden furnishings, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and private balconies or terraces equipped with hammocks and Jacuzzi tubs. While here, you'll have access to three swimming pools (one of which is designed especially for children), as well as its tennis club and nine-hole executive golf course (both of which are located off site). The Omni Puerto Aventuras is also an ideal home base for snorkelers and scuba divers due to its proximity to the beach and the Riviera Maya's expansive coral reef. And as far as dining goes, the resort houses three restaurants and the Piña Colada Jacuzzi Beach Bar, which serves up a variety of cocktails to keep you refreshed during the afternoon heat. While this property certainly has plenty to offer its visitors, previous guests are quick to caution: Unlike many luxury hotels found in this area, this Omni property does not offer all-inclusive rates. However, those participating in the Select Guest loyalty program can offset the cost with points.
