Memorial Day Staycation.

Jun 1st, 2020

My bf was approached by the front desk manager and given a staycation rate of $59 a night. We could use the pool but not room service , restaurant , or bar. So why not take it ? We miss having a pool. Check in and get to the room. My closet is bigger than the room. We go down and speak to same manager. In order to get a larger room we have to pay $200 for a suite. A hotel that has 5 other guests btw. We live her. We could encourage business to the Omni through our Friends, Families, and the 3 businesses we have. We decline. There is no fridge. Just a locked Mini bar fridge and we request a fridge. They were accommodating. PS , this day and age every room should have a fridge and microwave. For a usual rate of $179 there should be no 100sq ft rooms. We made the mistake of sleeping there in the lumpy bed and worse pillows in history. We live a block away. We should have gone home but was so anxious to be at a pool. It’s a week later. I’m still feeling the ill effects of sleeping in that bed. I have never had this. For two days I had to get in our jacuzzi tub when I woke up to function. I’m sure this sounds like drama or a funny story. I assure you that it is not. $59 to use the pool. Fine. We should have gone home after. The hotel sucks. Let me tell you. That woman who is “manager” is awful. The hotel is awful. The Ribroom on the other hand has the best steak I’ve ever had. It opened Friday , I think , try it , try the pool. Stay away from the rooms. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cancelled trip, great customer service

Mar 25th, 2020

Like many travelers, we had to cancel our trip. Omni Royal Orleans has provided great customer service. We plan to rebook our trip and will choose Omni Royal Orleans. We were provided documentation to verify that our funds were refunded to our credit card. The person I spoke with had suggestions for when we are able to rebook this anniversary trip. Dangerous Rooms

Mar 22nd, 2020

We rented the Penthouse suite with the connecting two bedrooms on each side. Upon entering the rooms, there is a dangerous one foot drop at the door. Although there is a sign posted on the doors to advise there is a step down, it is still very dangerous, especially at night. Unfortunately, I forgot about the one foot drop while entering late at night and tumbled into the room and fractured my left ribs. Sadly, this accident happened the night before our daughters wedding. I was thankful that I did not break a foot or get a concussion. I have been in severe pain and have been told the recovery is very painful and it will take 6-8 weeks to heal. Unfortunately, I was not able to enjoy our daughter’s wedding due to the severe pain. This could have been avoided if the hotel would have installed a cement step at each door. We are at the RibRoom and my steak was switched with my friends steak in error. The waiter said he would have a new steak prepared for my friend, since we both had started eating them, by the time noticed the error. 30 minutes later, my friend still did not receive her steak, due to they forgot to cook it. The Manager apologized and took our friends steak off our bill, and offered us complementary desserts. My friend left the restaurant hungry and it put a damper on our evening. We were all very disappointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay

Mar 17th, 2020

The hotel is located in a wonderful spot in the french quarter. The staff was friendly and quick. We visited the bar in the hotel and they were awesome as well. Quick service and very friendly. The room itself was nice too. A little small but very quaint and clean. Will visit again sometime! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed here for three nights ( 3/12-15) and I have to say that we were extremely disappointed. First, the breakfast: we paid for three breakfasts and were told at check in that we could have the buffet; the next morning, there was NO buffet, but we could have ala carte menu ordering. The food was just bad ( except for the fruits). We did not have breakfast the next two days there due to the poor quality. House-keeping: the room was clean, but constantly missing items. No tea bags; one small lotion/shampoo. we had to ask for replenishment every day. The corridor and room carpets need deep cleaning. There was a smell of 'decay' in the corridors. On check out- the person at the front desk, promised to remove the breakfast charge and send us a modified bill. We are still waiting 24 hours later for the same. Mind you, that this is an old hotel, which means, you can hear your neighbors and the corridor movements!! bring your earplugs. While, the staff were friendly and smiling, they were not very helpful. We brought our own bags in and out ( thankfully they were small) Overall, we were very disappointed in this Omni hotel TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
