Gorgeous resort

Mar 25th, 2020

We recently had a 3-day meeting at this resort. Overall we had a great experience. All the staff we dealt with during our stay were very courteous and helpful. Jocelin, Frank and Kim, and their respective teams, were my superstars! The resort is in a beautiful location with views of the mountains. The sleeping and meeting rooms were impeccable. Wedding Venue and location where guests were to attend.

Mar 10th, 2020

After our daughter was engaged 12/21/18, we went into planning mode. There were a few things that were non-negotiable with us.The one “must have” was a venue for the ceremony and the reception celebration in the same place where the guest could also stay, eliminating any need for transportation. This was discussed and emphasized before flying to AZ 1/4/19. My daughter and I spoke with, and stressed the importance of this with Amanda. Although she was unable to meet us, she left us a beautiful brochure and plenty of information to make our way. We had been hopeful for a tour of the property and were ready to leave when the most kind woman sitting to the left just inside the lobby said she would be pleased to show us around. As we left the lobby she saw a golf cart that could accommodate our group to show us around. I’m certain the best things of interest come from these drivers who point out the many perks of the resort and share many interesting details. We left leaving a message with Amanda that we loved the venue and if we could be assured all of our guests could stay on property, we were ready to sign on the doted line. Here’s where what could have been an excellent review of the experience turns awful and becomes infuriating. We had preferred the presidential suite lawn for the ceremony but were told it would not hold our crowd. We inquired about renting the suite ($3000/night) but were told we could not rent the suite unless we were using the lawn which we had been told was too small for us. We inquired about using the chapel but were told we couldn’t use it without using the presidential lawn while renting the suite. We were pretty much told where we would be placed. The Valencia Lawn was beautiful although the space seemed much more than we needed and less desirable to us. In the last week of June we returned to Arizona to finalize all plans. We took care of arrangements outside of Omni and within Omni. Before leaving we discussed in detail, the wedding would be November 23 so naturally we would not send invitations sooner than September 15-October 1. We would need as many as 80 rooms but by your system we would have had to pay for all of the rooms for our guest simply to hold them until the guest actually received the invitation and were ready to handle that with us. Certainly not what we call “Southern Hospitality” a trait we pride ourselves on. On July I 15 we called to book all of the rooms we needed so far, with invitations having just gone out. We were told all rooms were booked. We had been on these grounds the entire last week of June at which time foreseeable accommodations should have been discussed. No problem was even discussed yet we and our guests were dropped from Omni’s rooms entirely. The whole hotel was now booked for an Omni International Convention. We no longer existed on the books. If you want to ruin a bride’s day, rip the carpet out from her and leave her to clean up your mess, great job!8She lost weeks of sleep and suffered severe stress due to Omni’s error in double booking. She and her father were forced to make spread sheets and call people to inquire about their attendance at a wedding they had not yet even received an invitation for. Rude for anyone. Unacceptable and embarrassing for your company. In the end the Bridal family was pushed into the presidential suite which had us $3000 over our room budget. My family and the grooms entire family were forced to stay elsewhere. Betty Zapata the caterer was amazing and jumped through all the hoops she could find, to accommodate us and help carry us through what had become a less than pleasant “perfect day”. I would also like to point out that the cake was not nearly enough for everyone and I personally have not yet found anyone who even tasted it. Overall, this was not our favorite venue but we were more than impressed with the people we met during our first visit and were assured they are used for destination brides and very capable of handling things by phone or email. Everyone but the booking department. The booking department completely dropped the ball, left the bride devastated for months, and left our own family members moved to another location. I cannot express more clearly, Omni Montelucia’s booking department completely dropped the ball, our entire booking expectations and left our guests with bills several hundred dollars higher than promised by us. We never saw the transportation that would help us travel to the other accommodations and was promised to be available. Every “solution” they found for this party costs us substantially more money. The icing on the cake was me being stopped just as I was leaving for my room for my daughter’s wedding. Apparently the drone brought by my photographers licensed drone pilot didn’t fit within the range of all the questions I had asked every local photographer and videographer in the area. None stated laws against drones and video for film but you were completely successful in making sure my daughter got no video footage. Between the time that things were clarified for the bride’s mother and the 2 property security personnel, they bolted to find the photographer and videographer, then WALKING DIRECTLY BETWEEN THE BRIDE AND THE GRROMS FIRST LOOK. YEP, your cluelessness and rudeness made even more of a mess of our wedding day. You were rude toward me and ugly to a group of 10 gorgeous women who were taking their group pictures on a golf cart road running behind the presidential suite, interrupting absolutely NO ONE! When I asked politely if they needed to move you grunted they can’t be on the golf cart path. !?! Brides and their bridesmaids were made to feel uncomfortable and in the way. Your presence totally changed the mood. In the future, know who your guests are, those in formals are already emotional. They don’t need “Property Security” literally harassing them. For the record, this group included several major corporation Vice Presidents and Presidents as guest. Their secret service has never been as rude and disruptive as you two were and although you may deal with more weddings. They deal with things much more important than a wedding daily but they would definitely know when to step away. Thanks for the memories Omni. Having our friends together for the wedding and reception at least fulfilled one part of this couples dream. Dropping our guest and the time making spread sheets to see where we could move everyone else and how to handle their travel arrangements was your error and caused us months of disappointment and undue stress, not to mention confusion. However should anyone reading this like information we learned about other venues, I’d be happy to share. El Chorro welcomed us for our rehearsal dinner with open arms since Omni could not accommodate us, nor would I have wanted to after the mess with the rooms. We fell in love with the view at Omni and thought very highly of Amanda and could not have asked of anything more from Betty Zapata. Our guests totaled about 200 people who all were able to return Home uwith their own personal experience of how one departments error affects months of planning. If you were the only venue left, I’d say go somewhere else. If all you need are the views, these are spectacular but there are others even better. You lost a life long customer Omni and most all of their friends. What a horrible time to disappoint us. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Remarkable Property

Mar 9th, 2020

Located in Paradise Valley, this hotel has something for everyone. This stop seems best for a multi day visit so that you can enjoy the property. Numerous attractions, shopping, and airport within 20 minutes. Renowned spa, several pools, multiple high end dining and bar options, and fitness center. I was in a large room with balcony. Very well equipped. Comfortable. Bell team typically needs to drive you to your room due to expanse of the Montelucia. Easy Uber. Airport within 30 minutes. Hotel falls into the luxury category. My wedding experience

Mar 5th, 2020

We had a suite, which was nothing special. My Fiancés room at the Scottsdale Plaza felt bigger than the suite. Our room key kept failing the whole night. The views are amazing though. If you are booking your wedding here make sure it’s just for the views because everything else they promise you is just okay. They said I would be the only bride on property and the next thing I know there is another bride taking photos right where my whole party was. The enhancements they said would be made to the venue were not made. The cake we had made was terrible no one ate more than a bite. I will say our massage was amazing, probably one of the best I’ve ever had and the food in Prado is very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
