DO NOT STAY HERE

DO NOT BE FOOLED by the outdated photos of this property. It was a nightmare from the second we arrived. The hotel is in complete disarray. Upon checking into our room at over $450 dollars a night we walked down a hallway covered in dirt (see photos) this was a red flag from the second we got there. The hallways were FILTHY which was visible on the old carpeted floors. Upon entering our room I was greeted by an awful musty smell which was clearly from mold/water damage (see photos) Decided to chalk this up to bad luck having been given this room and went down to the beach which was another disaster. This was true survival of the fittest. There was ZERO order on the beach which was a surprise given the resort fee you pay for chairs etc. You had to get your own chair and drag it down to wherever you wanted to sit. There was all of FIVE umbrellas for the entire beach which was crazy to me being not everyone wants to bake in the sun. There were people draping towels over the back of their chairs for shade. The beach was complete chaos, took over 45+ min to even get food/drink service. There was garbage from people who had ordered food prior and left their chairs. Old towels empty cups and empty food containers everywhere. Coming from the north east I needed to get out of the sun and figured let me head to the pool. BAD IDEA. The pool was FILTHY. It looked like a hurricane had went through this area of the property. There were old downed palm tree leaves all around the pool, the pool itself was filled with sand and dirt. The chair cushions were filthy, oh and mind you THERE WAS NO SPACE. Whatever chairs were empty had old towels laying on them that had not been cleaned up. The bathrooms were filthy, no hand soap, no hand sanitizer. The best part of being at the pool was there were no TOWELS. I had to go into the lobby in my bathing suit to get towels from the front desk. Now if all of that doesnt scream WELCOME to VACATION than this will. Once we got into our run down smelly old room we were greeted by a COCKROACH crawling on our walls!!!!! (SEE PHOTO) At this point I had enough!! This was a weekend getaway gone wrong. When I called the front desk to speak to management clearly upset by what transpired that day, I told him about the roach and was told "WELL THIS IS FLORIDA" is that what you say to a guest who is paying $450+ a night at a hotel!!! HE nicely refunded my room (what else was he going to do) and let me check out. Which was the last thing I wanted to do on a Friday night in Florida on my vacation. I was left standing outside the hotel with no where to go looking for a 911 room for my 4 day stay in Florida. Marriott should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for making this one of the Bonvoy properties. This was an absolute nightmare and ruined my entire vacation. I spent the rest of my Friday night outside the hotel with my luggage looking for a new hotel room. I travel frequently and love Marriott properties but I will now rethink any stay at their properties going forward. If you read this review DO NOT STAY HERE TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't let the negative reviews deter you- this place is beautiful.

Several reviewers had unrealistic expectations of the resort, but I'm glad I wasn't deterred. The service from the bartenders and front desk was excellent. The beach staff was somewhat overwhelmed and needs more employees to run drinks and service chairs/umbrellas. Per policy, my room wasn't cleaned the three nights I was there so can't comment on maids, but I was provided any additional amenities from the front desk when needed- free bottled water there is a great touch I wish all hotels would implement. The food was top notch- some of the best sushi I have ever had. The resort is also in a great location with five other restaurants within a short walk. The Lake Worth Farmers market on Saturday was also nice surprise. I would happily return as it is now a Marriott property and the point level is a bargain comparably. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

the worst hotel we've stayed at in 30 years. It's horrible. A nightmare.

Feb 22nd, 2021

This hotel is run by an independent owner who cares nothing about the hotel. It is worse than a motel 6... and should not sharge more than $60/night. There was no one to check us in, no one answering phones, the doors were broken, the faucets dripped all night, and the entire hotel needs to be redone. It was seriously the worst experience we've had in 30 years of traveling. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Highs and lows of experience at this property

Feb 20th, 2021

Good location directly on beach- we upgraded to an ocean view which was beautiful- be advised not all upgraded rooms have balconies. Check in and check out staff were great Food was good - maybe not great but good. Breakfast was solid, fruit was very fresh and grouper fish tacos were very good Rooms and property style was a bit dark and dated but clean and comfortable. No sundries store available on site- (this seems like a missed revenue opportunity and an inconvenience for customers. We arrived late and had to order Uber Eats when we would have gladly overpaid for something on property -nuts, fruit, granola bars, etc). Food service was painfully slow one day but better the second day? Bar service was bad both days- with limited offerings and limited staff results were very disappointing- literally waited 30 minutes for a fruity drink that we actually threw away and no Bloody Mary mix available either morning. About 5 beach umbrellas for 50 chairs which was also disappointing -yet the beach attendant took great care of us? Overall I would have preferred to give maybe. 3.6 but decided to round down instead of up. Tremendous potential with some bright spots - but overall slightly missed the mark for a boutique hotel.
