Literally perfect

Jun 16th, 2019

7 nights with our 2.5 year old daughter. We were all over the place on where to stay but enough people said OOP was perfect for kids and they were not wrong. Breakdown: Room: Ocean front room #1416. Ground floor, huge patio with 2 chaise lounges, table w/ 2 chairs and large day bed further inside. Big lawn with hammock in front, great ocean views and quick walk to Aqua & family pool. Bed was great if on the softer side, very large living area, bathroom was fantastic and very open with great details. Room was to the left of Family pool and I'd 100% request this section again. 8.5/10 Pool(s): We spent 90% of our time at the family pool which honestly was bigger, more sheltered from wind and all around nicer than the adult pool. Sure the swim up bar was nice but it was small with no infinity edge and about 40% the size. Most couples without kids agreed and spent more time there. For kids it was PERFECT. Sloping entrance from a river/waterfall type area with tons of provided water toys. Jorge the lifeguard was the best, played with the kids and was super attentive. Very quick drink & food service, free smoothies, ice cream, and of course water all day. 10/10 Beach: really one of only a few swim-able beaches. OOP has beach bar, cabanas and chaises with umbrellas along with paddle boards, kayaks and a 16' hobie cat all included. Very quick walk from north end of property, for cabo 10/10 Food: Suviche - only not super experience. Over priced and so-so sushi quality but ceviche was great, 6/10. Breeze - great traditional Mexican food with a view 8/10. Aqua - Mediterranean fare with great view 9/10. Did not eat at Seared but it was very good according to others but all said it was $300-500/couple for a somewhat basic menu. Room service & breakfast was incredible, nespresso machines, daily snacks, fresh fruit and milk choices, 10/10. Service: hands down best I've ever had, cabo or elsewhere. We've stayed at Mandarins, 4-Seaons, Ritz, St. Regis, etc and this was like 5 levels better. Javier & Noe as butlers were top notch, noticed/remembered every little detail. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be working there and it showed. Just all around incredible. 10/10 Grounds/Common Areas: Super lush, clean and beautiful. Like being in a jungle with tons of shade and green beauty. Gym/Spa was very nice (only used Gym) and it was a pleasure to walk around everywhere. Great attention to detail. 10/10 On the fence? Just book it. I promise you won't regret it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

When only the best will do

The One & Only is the finest resort i have stayed in. The culture of service is so far over the top by everyone working there. The food is fantastic and the views make you think you are not in Cabo. Most of Mexico to me is Phoenix with a beach and worse roads, but the One & Only is wow. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Extreme Highs and Extreme Lows

Jun 14th, 2019

The trip had some extreme highs and some extreme lows. Strangely the hotel had very little in the middle. The extreme highs: 1) The hotel grounds are magical. It has lots of trees and vegetation. Lots of shade. There are lots of great little nooks that you can explore. A great Kids Club. Terrific pools. A swimable beach. At night, they light many candles and burn incense all over the place. It is just spectacular. 2) All of the rooms face the ocean and have amazing views. 3) The English skills of the staff are great. Much better than at other Cabo resorts that we stayed at. 4) The service seems to have "pockets." There are great pocket that provide excellent service (housekeeping, shop personnel, cart drivers) and there are bad pockets that provide horrid service (more on this later). The staff to guest ratio is 2 or 3 to 1 which is amazing to me as an American. The Extreme Lows 1) I hated the butler service. Every day, our butler would make an unprovoked grandiose promise to do something and then fail to do it. In the end, the butler service is the only service provided that WE DID NOT TIP. My wife and I discussed what the butlers actually did for us and it amounted to making a few dinner reservations and making a couple restaurant recommendations in town. 2) The service at the beach and at the pool was a joke. The would set you up and then do nothing. We spent about 30 hours total at the pool and beach and got exactly ONE popsicle from the staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One and Only Pamillia

Incomparable service, beautiful grounds, beaches and pools. Rooms lovely, comfortable and well appointed. Nice restaurants but close enough to town to seek out local favorites. The spa was serene and worth a visit. Best facials we’ve had while the treatment rooms were private bungalows. The staff were friendly and attentive. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Words cannot describe our experience enough. From our transport from airport to our accommodations we have never experienced such attention to detail. We will be back and we will be exploring the One&Only portfolio as well. One&Only Palmilla is the best resort we have been to! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
