Spa is too small for relaxation

Feb 20th, 2020

I brought a family member here for an afternoon. We both had a manicure, which was fine, but the public rooms are really too small for either quiet or relaxation. There are only really 4 chairs and two sofas and there’s no way to avoid overheating other conversations. There’s only one shower in the ladies lounge...and no sauna or steam room. The staff is very nice though. But I won’t be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unreal place to stay!

Feb 15th, 2020

The location at Neptune beach is great. Staff is incredible esp Kaytee Grokulsky at the main desk. Ocean View rooms are a must. Thank you for making a long business trip to Florida fun even on Valentine’s Day when I was away from my husband! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Really good until I got home and saw my bill.

Feb 13th, 2020

RESERVATIONS: Made quick and easy reservations online for a January 1-3 stay. Quoted rated included taxes and resort fees. Did NOT include Valet nor Valet taxes and fees. Pretty easy! ARRIVAL: Checked in at 4 and room was NOT ready. Had to wait an hour and a half. That is only slightly annoying because we wanted to change and hit the beach before it got dark. The Valet guys were very friendly and gathered up all of our stuff to take to our room. So it's weird getting up to your room -- you have to go from the lobby -- up one floor to the hotel elevators. It is handicap accessible but we didn't use that -- we used the marble stairs -- as did most. But just know that is a thing. Hotel Lobby was really nice. Fresh fruit infused water was available and that was nice as it was a warm day in January. There is really no "free" or overnight parking around the hotel. There is an hourly lot across the street -- but you have to feed a meter the entire time. If you are going to bring a car and park at the hotel you must use their Valet. ROOM: Our room was nice and clean. I am very picky about this. I don't walk on the floors in my bare feet and I am paranoid about germs and bed bugs and all the hotel nasty. I traveled for work for years -- I know what to look for. Socks came home pretty clean! The linens were clean and the snacks are included in your rate. You can get the snacks and water replenished daily! There were at least 3 chairs in our room! That was nice as I hate sitting on a bed. The air kept the room clean and you could see the ocean from our Ocean View Room. The beds were nice and we slept well. No weird hairs (this is a thing with me UCK), no strange bed stains or nastiness. One complaint about the room was that the door almost hits the toilet. It's a very awkward setup and annoying. The bathroom needs a sliding door or to be bigger. And lastly the windows needed to be washed....normally I don't care about that but because we were only "ocean view" I like to look out! It was winter and I imagine they get a good scrub down before the summer rush. THE AREA: There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and interesting stores and shops. There is a Walgreens close if you need those provisions. We walked there 2x. Also Uber is readily available to take you anywhere you need to go. You are about 25 minutes from the JAX football stadium. There is a Whataburger in a short drive from the hotel which the guys in my party LOVED. The beach is super nice and 2 chairs come with each room reserved. It was unusually warm so the attendants were having to haul out a lot of chairs they had stored. It was January and we were out in suits on the beach -- so fun. The ocean water was VERY cold. The pool is heated but we did not partake -- lots were though and the padded loungers around the pool were nice. We did not use the spa. We did not use the restaurant. Overall: We had a great time...and I would have stayed there again but then I got my bill. They have overbilled me by over $200 and I have spent 2 days trying to fix this. The problem is 1. the accounting clerk will not pick up the phone. She insists on emailing everything. 2. she wants me to authorize a charge on someone else's credit card (so illegal) and 3. they have overbilled me and have admitted to overbilling me and will not refund it until I authorize them to bill someone else (NOT MY PROBLEM). Do you think this is insane? If not, let me have them bill you... Would I stay here again? Perhaps but I would seriously consider paying cash. We had soooooo much fun. This is a real bummer to an otherwise happy time. PS I have emailed the manager that responds to these reviews. Haven't heard anything yet. Will keep you posted. TO BE CONTINUED...... Family run-cation!

Feb 13th, 2020

We stayed here because it is literally next to the race start for the DONNA half and full marathon race. We were spoiled by the valet service, welcoming check in, heated pool, complimentary bikes, & so many delicious restaurants within walking distance...in addition to the beautiful hotel. We'll be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place

Feb 9th, 2020

Came into town for the Porsche Taycan unveiling. Spent a great night there with another couple visiting. We had a room with a balcony, on the beach and had a nice breeze, left the slider open all night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
