Amazing hotel and service
Sep 3rd, 2020
While vacationing in Peru during March this year, the borders were closed and international travel went into a halt aiming to control the spread of the Covid-19. It was an unfortunate and unexpected event and we ended up staying almost two weeks until we were able to get a repatriation flight. Lucky enough that time was spent in this beautiful hotel. The building itself resembles a museum full of history, it’s walls covered in art and unique furniture all around; but the most impressive part are their employees, they offered us an excellent service in every level, they were truly concerned with our well being and made us feel welcomed and protected, they were friendly, kind, compassionate, simply amazing! All of them went above and beyond to take care of their guests, making us feel safe and helping in every possible way to coordinate our safe return to our home countries. Matias and his wonderful team helped us to make that time enjoyable, we’ll sure miss that level of service! From Victor and his delicious and artistic drinks, Milushca greetings us at breakfast, Roger remembering what we liked to order with our meals, Darwin and so many others! Thank you Palacio del Inca, you raised the bar of expectations for service really high! Hopefully we’ll get to come back soon and finish the visit of all the other places we couldn’t! Beautiful Environment, Very Good Restaurant, OK Spa
Aug 30th, 2020
The stay didn't start well, and the room we were in was terrible but after some back-and-forth that I wish had been shorter, the hotel management more than made up for it. The hotel itself is beautiful, and one of the best place you can stay in Cusco, ideally located near the center, well staffed ,and well maintained. The place really adds to one's stay. The restaurant is very good, with few but interesting wines on the menu, and the breakfast buffet is both diverse and opulent, actually a high point of the say both in quality and quantity. The spa installation is nice but the services offered a very standard. This is not the place where you'll get the massage that changes your day, let alone your life, but the small pool has a fair amount of different jets to make it a relaxing hydrotherapy break. Incredible property, location, and superb service
Jul 5th, 2020
This property impressed me even before arrival. Because of a terrible airline I ended up missing a connecting flight and missing an entire day at this hotel. While stranded overnight I messaged the hotel and updated them about my situation. I had arranged an airport ground transfer through/to the hotel and that had to be pushed a day as well. They were extremely understanding and adjusted everything seamlessly. I was not penalized as a "no show" for arriving a day late either. My eventual arrival coincided with my daughter's and there was a hotel representative at the airport. She waited with us for our baggage and got us to the driver. There must have also been communication while en route because the hotel staff were at the curb to greet us. Due to the historic nature of the area cars cannot drive up to the hotel entrance. We arrived early in the morning and were very hungry. I inquired about breakfast [which I would have gladly paid for] and they graciously let us join the lavish breakfast service at no charge. It is a luxurious spread of local and international foods. A live harpist is also included. During breakfast the second morning I noticed local artisans in the courtyard with a baby alpaca! It was so fun to finish breakfast and then go outside to meet an alpaca. The property is very nice with several courtyards so you do need to pay attention or you'll end up walking out of the way. They offer a daily "activity" and it was great. We did a walking historic tour of the property and the Pisco Sour lesson in the bar. Truthfully, I was "on the fence" about the JW or this property. We did stop at the JW for a Pisco Sour while in town and it was right in the heart of the touristy area. I was very glad that we were staying at the Palacio which is close to everything but the surrounding area is much more calm. I was also able to arrange a private ride to our next property through the hotel and charge it to my bill - which is so convenient. The price included the ability to stop and visit sites on the way. We saw Lake Huaypo, Moray, and the Maras salt mines on the way to Urubamba. My daughter and I travel extensively for work and leisure. In 2019 we were on 5 continents and 9 countries together. Although we [unfortunately] only had one night here it made a very strong, positive impression on both myself and my daughter. I highly recommend this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Service on a Superhuman Level
Mar 29th, 2020
My family and I were #stuckincusco #stuckinperu for nearly two weeks due to the emergency declaration and border closure ordered by the President of Peru in response to the COIVD-19 outbreak. The hotel and its staff went well above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel safe, comfortable, and welcome. The level of service and, on a more human level, compassion, was truly inspiring and above anything else that we have ever experienced, including other 5-star hotels at which we have stayed. The building is a museum in and of itself, and the staff will gladly give you a tour and explain the history to you, including the Inca walls which are still present in the building and the striking columns built at the time of Pizarro. It is quiet, laid back, and great for families. Matias and his staff will take great care of you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Amazing stay all around!
Mar 24th, 2020
Without a doubt, I would stay at this hotel if I'm in Cusco again. The grounds were stunning and the breakfast was incredible (they even had a baby llama there!). But the best part was definitely the staff. They were professional, welcoming, friendly and so helpful. The staff at reception were really great and the bellman, Willington, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
