What an amazing time!

This hotel is absolutely amazing! I spent my birthday weekend with family and friends and everyone from check in with Megan, Brenda and Sean at the front desk to Zubaer at Lagoon Pool were the best! They were all so attentive and nice! Thank you all for a great experience! I will continue going back to this resort and recommend to all friends and family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We enjoyed a few days in this resort, was the perfect mini vacation for our family,service,pools and beach were great. My mom visited The SiSpa and was perfect for her,thank you to Suchaya for incredible massage,We will return for sure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not following CDC guidelines.

I chose the Marriott for my first post covid lockdown vacation. Boy was I disappointed. I called before making my reservation because I wanted to know their covid response measures. They said they were following cdc guidelines. These are the ways they are not following CDC guidelines: The valet had their masks around their necks. Most employees were wearing masks around their necks or under their noses. Almost none of the patrons were wearing masks. No signs encouraging wearing masks. There are signs telling you when the elevators were last disinfected, we arrived at 4:30 pm and the sign said they last disinfected at 10:17 am. On the beach, the chairs were not disinfected between parties. I saw a party leave and then the beach team seat another party without cleaning the chairs The Beach chairs were not 6 feet Apart between parties. The beach team was not covered up. The most disappointing part of this trip was my view. I paid for an oceanfront room (as stated on their website) but my room faced north. There is a building north of the property. I had to walk out to the balcony to see the ocean. I left a day early because I felt uncomfortable in the common space and didn’t really feel like looking at a building from my room. I did reach out to Marriott. I asked for a refund for my final night. Instead they offered me points. I really don’t want to stay in a dirty place so I declined. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent property, not worth the hype

My stay was rather disappointing. We were checked into our room rather early around 10am, which was a plus. I was upgraded to an ocean view room, even confirmed on the app due to my status. When I arrived, it was a straight up coastline view (1211). Not a bad view, but where’s the upgrade as advertised. No turndown service due to the pandemic, understandable. We were charged the resort fee, although MOST of the amenities were not available. We tried getting kayaks and they were closed. No beach chairs on day 1. To cap it off, we made pool reservations per their recommendation on Friday. When we tried to get our chairs the following day, our names had been erased and were ultimately given an inferior chair location after the embarrassment that was caused. Maybe it was a bad week to visit, but it definitely doesn’t not come close to the category 8 resort it’s advertised as. Much better properties for that price point. Disappointed to say the least. Overall Okay Visit

I have mixed feelings about our trip. We booked a "two bedroom ocean view" suite. My first issue is with the term "Ocean View". We paid extra expecting a room with an "Ocean View". Only to discover that the view of the Ocean was not a direct view, but instead a partial view that could be seen from the left side of of balcony. The direct view from the windows and patio was of another apartment building across the courtyard. Although the room was nice and clean, it was on a lower floor with less than what would be considered an "ocean view". Upon calling the front desk to inquire about the view; it was explained that none of the rooms in the hotel have a direct "ocean view". As a courtesy the manager moved us to a nicer room on a higher floor. The room was much bigger and much nicer. As one guest noted, this hotel is pretty noisy. Loud music could be heard playing into the wee hours of the night. Due to the Corona crisis there was no room service and limited seating in the dining area. The food was very expensive and left much to be desired. We went to dinner and ordered 3 burgers, salad, 3 alcohol drinks with 3 desserts, and the bill was nearly $150. Another issue we had was with the valet parking. We were told upon arrival that the cost was $29. Once we got to the front desk and checked in, we were told it was $30. On our final bill however the charge appeared as $32. If this were not enough, on our first night there we got a call from the Valet saying that they somehow locked our key fob inside the car. Fortunately we had a spare on hand. Pool time was by reservation only. Spaces were limited despite the $35 per day resort fee. Aside from a few minor issues we loved the property, and felt that the staff (especially Chaplain and Maybeline) went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We could not give this property five stars because we believe that some aspects of our visit (valet, check in, stopped up toilet, difficulty opening balcony door, dining experience, etc.) should have gone smoother for price that we paid.
