Meh

Jul 18th, 2019

The good: The studio we rented through Airbnb was clean and comfortable. It was on the 20th floor. We had rented a car and there is free valet in self parking. It’s not on the strip but close enough to not be a big deal. The strip is not exactly walkable anyway. The bad: I came to Vegas to sit by a pool. I realize I need to change my expectations of the pools in Las Vegas and accept that they are simply another moneymaking opportunity, and not an amenity provided for hotel guests. the music at this was horrible. And seems to be targeted to 18-year-olds people who were not at this pool... wtf. And because it was incredibly windy, they took down many of the umbrellas. The only shade available were in all of the empty cabanas. Available to rent for $150... Lobby very crowded :( TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Noisey and poor value

Jul 18th, 2019

During the period 12 June to 06 July 2019 (23 nights), we visited several west USA National Parks and stayed in 17 different hotels/motels. This provided a unique opportunity to compare and review these establishments. We stayed for 2 nights, 04 & 05 July 2019, room 10318 (10th floor), and paid GBP98.99 plus USD44.22 resort fee, per night. The room was a suite with 1 king size bed, see photos. The main complaint was that loud music originating from the poolside, 4 floors below, could be heard in the room from 0900 to 1900 everyday. Despite requests to customer services, nothing was done to minimise the sound levels. Whilst most facilities and amenities were provided, the basic room layout/design was poor because: • Glass partition wall between bathroom and bedroom means light in bathroom can be seen at night. • Common glass door to shower and bath • No towel rail near to washbasin (one could have been easily added under the washbasin counter) • Poor location of towel storage rack over WC. In addition, the following were found to be missing: • No shower gel provided • No ice machines on each floor although in-room directory states otherwise. Front desk claim that as they provided refrigerators, ice machines were not. Ridiculous excuse! • No USB charging points • iPod/radio clock not working • Damaged furniture (see photo) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Missed opportunity

Jul 14th, 2019

After I had the privilege of aiding save the life of a fellow guest at the Laguna restaurant, I was promptly presented with my bill. I guess they were kind enough to comp my coffee, since it got cold while I was on the floor helping to revive the young man during his massive seizure. My breakfast got cold too, but who really cares. It took a long while for paramedics to arrive on the scene, I was glad to be there. Anyway, not even a proper thank you from management. I guess this is the sign of times in this new era. I was happy to check out earlier, and comped them my room for the second night. Beds are comfortable, very pleasant suite with sound proof sliding doors to help block the blasting music by the pool. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

FALSE ADVERTISING

Jul 2nd, 2019

I booked a 2 bedroom suite through VRBO.com for the Palms Hotel and Spa for a 3-night stay. Through a private owner. I paid $1,000.00 to be notified 24hrs before my arrival that they were double booked and canceled my reservation. I had to re-rent another suite through VRBO for the same hotel for $1400.00 for the same 3 night. This time the owner of the suite was the hotel. What hasn't what upset me the was that I now had to pay an additional $400.00. Why would that upset me :/ why would that upset anyone? :? What made it worse was that they weren't giving me the 2 bedroom suite. But they advertise a 2 bedroom suite by pictures and description. Not only am I paying more I'm getting less. But wait you don't know that until they send you an email of your purchase and send you the right picture of your room, The picture on VRBO shows a 2 bedroom suite. IT"S FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! PERIOD!!! VRBO has the nerve to tell me that it wasn't them that its the hotel "the hotel can put any pictures of the room" that they want. NO, THEY CANNOT!!!! The description clearly states a separate bedrooms separate seating area.!!! How can they get away with this? The hotel states they can not make any changes to the reservation without VRBO know. That VRBO is the one that has to make the changes to make sure I get the room I'm paying for. And VRBO WON'T. They keep telling to call the Palms the Palms tells me to call VRBO this went on for a while I called the hotel 3 times on this matter and no one would help. I called VRBO 3 times and no one would help. Well, I made one more final call to the hotel to reservations I tired book a new reservation for the room I wanted to my surprise they didn't have anymore 1 bedroom suite available. There's the scam they charge you 1 bedroom suite prices and give you a regular room cause they overbooked!! SO PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THROUGH VRBO!!!!! 1 King Bed and 1 Queen Sofa Bed 581-sq-foot (54-sq-meter) room with valley views <br/> Layout - Separate sitting area TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great value near the strip

Jun 28th, 2019

I had a great experience at Palms Place during my recent three night stay. I think it's important to set your expectations that this isn't an ultra luxe hotel such as the Wynn. However, it's an excellent choice for travelers on a budget who are seeking a better than average room with all the frills of an on strip casino but without the price tag. Pros: 1. Free parking 2. Free WiFi 3. Very large rooms with kitchenette. One bedrooms have washer dryer and balconies. 4. Beautiful views from all rooms. 5. Amazing pool on casino side, but it's a long walk. The palms place pool is mediocre. Cons: 1. Cleanliness. Both the lobby and my room needed attention. There were food spills on the fridge, counters needed wiping and the windows were very dirty. That said, housekeeping was amazing when I raised the issue about my room. They came immediately to clean, apologized and offered me a new room. 2. The pool is pretty lame. It's smallish, music is obnoxiously loud and generally uninviting. Walk to the casino pool for a much nicer experience. It's included in your stay. 3. Lack of kitchenware. I ordered Uber Eats on two evenings. The kitchen doesn't have anything at all except two glasses and two mugs. No plates, silverware, nada. Again, my three night stay ran me just over $300 including the daily resort fee. I feel I got far more a value! It's not the Mandarin Oriental but it was definitely worth the price. I booked through priceline so not through an independent owner. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
