Family vacation August 2020
Aug 13th, 2020
Since there haven’t been many reviews of Paradisus since they reopened at the beginning of July, I wanted to provide some feedback on the resort. We’re from Texas and had some definite concerns about traveling, especially internationally, during all of this COVID pandemic. The concerns were more related to getting quarantined or stuck somewhere than anything else. We had purchased trip insurance when we booked in January and almost cancelled the trip in July due to those concerns. However, after talking to American Airlines some and reading reviews on the resort and the current Cancun/Playa conditions, we decided to go, and I couldn’t be happier that we did. Appropriate precautions were in place at every step of the trip and especially at the resort. The place is beautiful and the level of service is extremely high. We’ve probably stayed at 10 resorts in the area (Moon Palace, Hyatt Ziva, Excellence, Hard Rock, etc...), and this was about as good as you can get. We stayed in a private area called the Reserve, and as such, had a concierge/butler named Brayan that helped us with everything. He made reservations at the restaurants, helped us restock the room with snacks and drinks we wanted, and brought us anything we needed anywhere in the resort. The man was everywhere - the beach, the pool, the kids waterpark, the lobby - whatever we needed, he took care of promptly. While my wife and I are very skeptical of many aspects of this “pandemic,” folks concerned about COVID can rest assured that the entire staff and environment was set up with all of those safety measures in mind. I’m talking 100% masks on staff (also often with face shields), temperature checks when entering restaurants, constant cleaning, and social distancing. However, it was never done in a way that was intrusive or detracted from the vacation. Since we are not big proponents of masks and such, this was important to us, and I think it was a good balance of precaution and freedom. In summary, traveling in these crazy times is workable, and this resort is excellent. Don’t hesitate - just go. You’ll be glad you did. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Family Fun in Playa del Car
Aug 13th, 2020
We just got back from a week at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. Man what a great spot for families. They really do cater to all the fun things that a family could want. I would recommend upgrading to their family concierge serviced room. You are assigned a personal butler that takes care of all your needs throughout the week. Nafteli was our Butler and did an amazing job for us. He brought fish/turtle food to the room for an activity each day for the kids. With all the changes with COVID going on he was able to supply us with crayons and coloring books so they would have something to do while we ate dinner each night it was great. We had a few issues that we ran into on our trip and Rafeal with the management team was quick to be by our side and provide us a fabulous experience. The resort is great about communicating with you before your trip as well. During these crazy pandemic times be sure to ask them lost of questions. We arrived thinking that everything would be open during our stay. It wasn't. We were disappointed to find out that they had to close the Kid's Club due to COVID. It was a big bummer for us and the kids. However they did a great job in trying their best to do outdoor activities each days for the kids. We can't wait to come back in non-pandemic times to see what all the resort can offer. We would also try other Melia resorts. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This was our first time in Mexico and an All-Inclusive resort. We had a Reserve One Bedroom Swim up. It included Butler service and Hector was our Butler. He was so helpful and thought of everything for us. More than I would have even thought about asking for. I hope when we go back we get Hector again. The food was amazing. We did mostly room service for breakfast, lunch on the beach and dinner at one of the choices open. We loved trying new items at dinner each night. The beach was beautiful and they pampered at all times. The ocean was perfect, no waves. The pool was fun and again always amazing service and drinks. We even had someone who would come up to our swim up part of pool by our room and bring us food and drinks. I feel we ar totally spoiled now and anything less than this resort would be a let down. We hope to visit again soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My girlfriend and I just got back from Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Esmeralda and we had the most memorable time together. The staff was very friendly, thanks to Brayan, Alfredo, Xaris, Elias, Cecelia, Daniel, Hernando, and Angel for the 5 star service. I can’t say enough about the service and all the delicious food that we had. Regarding Covid-19, we did feel safe due to the attention of every staff member, the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing was emphasized in all public spaces, and the request of mask usage was required by everyone. I definitely recommend this resort and we will plan to go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had an amazing time with our family at Paradisus in Playa Del Carmen. Staff was extremely kind and caring, helpful and very pleasant. In particular we would like to mention our concierge Tatiana who helped us to book all our restaurants reservations , advices on night time events, showed us around and gave very helpful advice regarding the room service , things we needed for the kids and many more. She has been nothing but delight in our trip and especially she spoke russian which meant a lot for us as my mom don’t speak any English or Spanish! We definitely will be back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
