Too much hassle

Jul 16th, 2019

Good class hotel but the recurrence of non-English speaking staff remains an issue. At breakfast we order a black tea and 3 times in a row 3 different staff members brought us a black coffee. For the price they ask the guests could at least expect some decent English speaking staff. Also the reception is on the 87 floor, the rooms on 81-86 floors and bars on 91-92 floors and all this with 3 different elevators. So if you want to go from your room to the 92 floor bar you need to take 3 different elevators. We had to wait many minutes for the elevators from our room to the lobby and from the lobby to the ground floor as the rooms are not linked to the ground floor. A constant waste of time ! Park Hyatt does it well

Jul 14th, 2019

I appreciate the professionalism of the staff at the Park Hyatt. The food could be better but the rest is the best. The hotel is also good at recognizing and shows appreciation accordingly. Always glad to see Marvin, Yvonne, Raymond as the raise the bar on service . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Class and elegance

Jul 14th, 2019

Very nice hotel located in the heart of Shangai with view on the Yangtze River and the Oriental Pearl Tower. Rooms are spacious with very large bathroom. The swimming pool is remarkable. The bar, lounge and restaurants )available also for non residents) are of high standard. Surely to be recommended when in Shanghai both for business and leisure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic hotel in the clouds!

Jul 12th, 2019

The Park Hyatt Shanghai is a beautiful hotel and is one of the tallest hotels in the world. You are literally in the clouds at times and the views are spectacular when the smog, clouds, and/or fog clear! I stayed at The Park Hyatt after two nights on the other side of the river at the Hyatt on the Bund. So glad I did it this way as the Hyatt on the Bund seemed like a dump compared to the opulence and style of the Park Hyatt. Check-in was great and requires you to go up the elevator to a higher floor, which is where the hotel starts. Check-in was professional and I was given a great view of the Bund from my room on the 83rd floor. The view is great if it isn't cloudy! The room itself evolkes Japanese simplicity and has a fantastic design and layout. I loved the Japanese style Toto washlet toilet in the bathroom. The room had great features, including a Nespresso Machine, which does shine an unfortunate light on you when you try to sleep. I simply unplugged it at night. Amenities were top notch, both in the room and outside of it. The pool is one of the highest in the world and also offered spectacular views. The pool area was gorgeous and a tranquil oasis in a very busy city. The locker room near the pool was well stocked and offered several amenities. The Music Room on the 92nd floor had a fantastic happy hour offers and was a great place to have a drink or three. The appetizers were pretty good. I also had lunch in the lobby area and the food was decent. Room service was also decent although nothing spectacular. Overall, this was a fantastic place to hang out in one of the world's most modern cities. Everything surrounding the Park Hyatt is clean, modern, and honestly not that crowded. I expected bigger throngs of people walking around the city but never found it to be too overwhelming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
