Nice loft apartments, but loud

Jul 13th, 2019

We did not realize that this would be a two-level room when we rented. At 70, we are no longer fans of stairs -- particularly those without any rails. If we had realized that, we would have chosen something else (and they do have smaller single-level rooms here). That said, the biggest real complaint is the noise. The windows are single-pane, and overlook a busy street,. We hear trucks and garbage trucks and street cleaning trucks and... did I mention trucks? well past midnight. Double pane windows would go a long way towards minimizing the noise problem. The staff at the front desk is extremely polite and goes well out of his way to be helpful. The cleaning staff not so much... We put out the "clean up now" sign when we left. Upon returning, the sign was gone, but there is no indication a maid was here at all. Toiletries not replaced. Rug not vacuumed. Spills on counter still there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice loft apartment in central location

Mar 1st, 2019

We stayed there for 5 days and are happy with the space and amenities provided . The only issue we have is with the old TVs . The programs are all in Spanish so we don't use them anyways. The hotel is just beside St. Lucia Hill and a short walking distance from major attractions and shopping districts. There are many restaurants around the corner. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable Loft Apartment

Dec 28th, 2018

We were happy with the extra space of our loft apartment, room to spread out. Quiet, and the furniture was comfortable. Location is good if you walk in the right direction. Supermarket one block away, Place de Armas and the museums 10 minutes away, the cool Lastarria district 10 minutes away. A couple words of caution: No English language channels on the TV. The AC does not reach the upper floor sleeping area, so very cold downstairs and a bit warm up. They need ceiling fans. But overall we were happy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Apartment vs hotel in Santiago

Dec 12th, 2017

This property has apartments; one building is a hotel with breakfast included, maid service, etc. We stayed one (of several) towers that has an apartment but NO maid service, breakfast or restaurant. At first, I was dismayed but then found that there's a huge supermarket a one-minute walk away. Once I had water, food, wine, tissues, etc., I really liked it. The kitchen was fully functional, though not overly stocked with cookware. I was too busy to cook dinner; a light breakfast was fine for me. The bed was very comfortable. The bed and bathroom are on the second floor of the loft. It is very safe, quiet, inexpensive. Nice view as well. SO much within walking distance, so in the end, I was VERY happy with my little home away from home. I was there for 7 nights. There is also a gym and a cool playroom for children with LOTS of blow-up bouncing toys. I don't think there is a pool, but not sure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Double loft should be your only choice, pictures are a bit misleading

Sep 30th, 2017

This place was great. But most of the pictures are so finely orchestrated that I was misled into thinking that a normal one-bed room was going to be an "apartment hotel" for me and my lady. The place was clean. But it had a lack of tables, no real chairs (only one with a back, the others were stools) and some random open space where a table would just make sense! Plus I expected a separate bathroom but what we got was a walk-in connected bathroom with a shower room. Also lighting was a little harsh. Either way to bright (no covers) or too dull (not enough lumens). Our TV was permanently tilted. The elevator also went like so: Floor 1, 0, 2, 3. Just weird for that part. Breakfast was "ok". They deliver it to your refrigerator while you are out, or you can just take it from the employee when he comes by during that time. No menu, you just get a few sandwiches, yogurt, juice, milk, and instant coffee/tea. Staff was great in our requests. Although I would recommend this place to others, I don't think a single bedroom like the one we had is comfortable enough for what should qualify as an "apartment hotel". A good example of such a location is Lastarria 43-61 Apartments or La Sebastiana Suites. Most likely more expensive, but these types of apartment hotel rooms offer multiple rooms: a kitchen, a living room with couch, counter, chairs and dining table, and a full bathroom. I had too choose between these three places and J chose Park Plaza expecting something along those lines. This is why I think if you're going to stay there, go all out and go with the loft option. It is most likely way better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
