Luxurious stay in the forest
Jul 13th, 2020
We had a wonderful time in the Eagle's Nest! There are an abundance of luxurious amenities and is in a wonderful location with lots of trails nearby. The large jacuzzi was amazing. Maryann really helped us plan our trip- she coordinated all the activities for us- it was very easy to work with her and we would come back! Just note there's no pond right next to the house ;) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Most Incredible Baby-Moon Imaginable!

Pearson's Pond and Maryann truly made our Babymoon to Alaska the best trip we could imagine! Maryann is the sweetest person you can imagine and was so accommodating before our stay even began. Booking was easy and she gave us recommendations on what to pack and things to bring. The location of Pearson's Pond is excellent - it is an easy drive into town and to the airport but still close to hiking/biking trails and Mendenhall Glacier. The rooms were perfect, so comfortable and cozy! We stayed in a Deluxe Room and it had everything we needed and more. Maryann truly thinks of everything! Her breakfasts were DELICIOUS! We didn't use the hot tubs outside because I was pregnant, but they looked so comfortable! We did make a campfire one night and made smores which was so much fun. Be aware if you go to Juneau in May, the pollen is crazy! We weren't bothered by it, but we talked with lots of people who were having issues with it. Maryann also booked such incredible excursions for us that helped us create amazing memories! She is so knowledgeable on all things Juneau and gave us great recommendations on food, things to do and what to see! It's hard to choose a favorite excursion because they were all incredible. We did the Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer Glacier Cruise (absolutely breathtaking views), Salmon Fishing (Caught the first King of the season & Capt. Kevin was hilarious!), Whale Watch (Incredible crew!), Floatplane & Salmon-Bake (Most delicious salmon ever!). We also really loved biking to Mendenhall Glacier, visiting the Shrine of St. Therese, checking out the Alaska Brewing Company and eating at Twisted Fish (Scott the Bartender was HILARIOUS & I had the most delicious Salmon, Crab, shrimp pastry). My husband and I were so happy we got to stay a full week in Juneau, so many people we spoke to were visiting Juneau by cruise ship and they were wishing they had more time. All of the locals said we were seeing Juneau the best way by being "independent travelers". I highly recommend Pearson's Pond and we can't wait to visit again with our daughter! We told Maryann that we entered as guests and left as friends! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pearsons pond is the best place in Juneau to stay hands down. Maryann will treat you like family and arrange anything yippy might want top do or see while you are in juneau. But make sure yup contact the resort instead of going through a travel site you will get a better rate and they don't always know everything that is available. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Neither Luxury nor Adventurous

So disappointing! Rooms are small and unattractive. The “spa” is a hotub and creaky tiny sauna. The breakfast is not enjoyable. The proximity to the airport is not worth staying here as the drive to town is easy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
WHERE DO I BEGIN?

Let me start by saying that my husband and I stay at a lot of B&B's. Pearson's Pond was a highlight! First of all, it's in a great location close to Mendenhall Glacier and Auke Bay. Secondly, it's just charming! Our room was cozy with all the amenities you need. I'm not sure what marshmallow-like-dream-mattress Maryann has on the beds, but they were FABULOUS! Oh, and we used the hot tub each morning and every evening as we looked out on to a tranquil, lovely pond. BUT - what made this visit over the top was MARYANN! She helped book many of our excursions and seems to know EVERYONE in Alaska. When high winds one day cancelled two of them, she made sure we got rebooked. I HAVE to mention the dog-sled glacier experience. Here's where the 'Maryann factor' made all the difference... Another couple staying at the B&B, who did NOT go through Maryann to book the dog sled trip, had been told a week or two before coming to Alaska their trip was cancelled because there wasn't enough snow on the glacier. When I talked to Maryann about booking our dog sled experience, not only was she aware that snow was a concern....she double checked and found one of the companies was still operating the trip. Our B&B friends had no idea. Thanks to Maryann, it was the difference between an INCREDIBLE day and NO dog sledding at all. I'm sure I annoyed her with all of my questions and requests, but she never made me feel like I was a bother. We even brought her back some tiramisu from our dinner spot to thank her for everything. I HIGHLY recommend Pearson's Pond....AND make sure you have Maryann help with everything else!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
