Excellent staff and service
Mar 13th, 2020
I've stayed here a few times in the past and have always loved this hotel. I stay here whenever I'm spending the night in Philly. I had a booking that I had to cancel the day of the reservation due to my event being canceled from the recent corona virus scare. The hotel was so incredibly kind and canceled my room without any cancelation fees! I am sad I had to cancel my stay with them and I look forward to my next visit! Thank you to the kind staff at Penns view TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Unique place to stay for sightseeing and wedding
Mar 10th, 2020
We stayed at the Penns View for 2 nights to attend a family wedding that was held on nearby 2nd Street. I have to say that at first I was like, wow this is small and the lobby is kinda unusual, but once we stayed there, the charm, location, personnel, food etc... persuaded us that this was a great place. The food in the breakfast room and the Panorama View restaurant were exceptional. Our room had real hardwood floors, a very comfortable bed, free wi-fi, a modern-recently remodeled bathroom, plenty of outlets and a great view of the Ben Franklin Bridge. All the tourist sites are within walking distance. We were surrounded by cobblestone streets. This hotel is on the National Register of Historic places so it isn't going to be like your new Marriott or Hyatt, but it is a wonderful, comfortable CLEAN (say again, CLEAN) place to stay for a visit to Philly. All personnel, especially Antonio, were helpful and available. Elevator is a little slow, but that just gives you time to reflect on what you've done that day or encourages you to keep active by taking the stairs, which are clean and well lit. We highly recommend this place and will stay there again when in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Well-Located Historic Property Across the Street from a Large Freeway and Bridge
Feb 19th, 2020
Old-fashioned, family-run historic hotel well situated for historic downtown area. Some rooms have gas-lit fireplaces and jacuzzis. Big concern is noise. The hotel is across the street from a huge inter-state highway/bridge whose noise, depending on where you are located in the hotel, can be a distraction. Suggest going to see the room before acceptig it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Lovely "olde worlde" hotel in old part of town

Easily accessible from the airport, right next to historic town centre- it is just a few blocks' walk. Lots of restaurants nearby. Excellent location and very helpful and friendly staff. We very much enjoyed the ambience and the comfort of the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Accommodations for a Wedding
Jan 4th, 2020
I loved working with Toni to set up a room block for my wedding. She was always available to answer a question and responded promptly. She made the process for myself and guests so easy. The accommodations were charming and clean and the onsite staff was very helpful. The hotel is a short walk to many Old City attractions and my guests took advantage of that. Can't wait for my next stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
