Family Getaway to the Beach

Aug 6th, 2020

We stayed in the cottage with our Scottish Terrier and our son and his family stayed in the North Tower. The view of the ocean was wonderful, The donuts are good and it is great to be able to swim in the ocean and retreat to the indoor pool and hot tub!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not family friendly!

May 20th, 2020

NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Parents please read so you know what to expect. While they have pretty awesome amenities and it looks great here’s the truth. When we first arrived and walked down to the beach there were multiple rooms that have the smell of marijuana coming from it. The sidewalks, bushes and pools have trash everywhere, more specifically beer bottles/cans and cigarette butts. The pools are great up until about 4pm when what the management claims are locals or the “new characters due to the stimulus package” take over. The first time we went to the indoor pool around 8pm and the party had already started. 6-8 younger kids had a liquor bottle they passed around and their 2 cases of white claw, their music was blaring with no filter for younger kids and then one of the boys thought they would turn around from the hot tub and pee right on the pool equipment. It was absolutely disgusting. I went to the front desk and the gentleman called an employee to address the issue. My husband was down at the pool the entire time and he said not once did the gentleman even enter the pool area. That’s where I spoke with another guest that said the partiers were offering their kids shots. I went back to the office to let them know nothing had changed and to see if a manager was available. They weren’t so I waited for the morning. When I spoke with the from manager she became very defensive stating that that was not how their hotel is ran and that because of covid they were under staffed and had no control over it at the time. She then told me that if I’d like I could check out right then and get refunded for the following night. Honestly I was shocked. I would have expected one of our nights to be comped if not both. But to become defensive and then suggest I leave the hotel was mind boggling. Because we only had one more night and she claimed that’s not how things were we decided to just finish our mini vacation. Well 4pm rolled around and we went to enjoy the hot tub and indoor pool but once again there was a new table with people we had not seen all day had their tables already filled with beers and loud music cursing every other word. There went their theory of it not being an everyday thing for them. 2/2 seems pretty regular. The reason why we chose this hotel is because it looks like an all day entertainment. Well unless you plan to leave after 4 or stay in your room you can’t enjoy what you pay for. The staff apparently does nothing to change this. I have an idea- use a room key to get into all the pool entrances. I will never again in my life come here and I will never recommend this place not only because of the hotel but the front management that poorly handled the situation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great customer service during pandemic

May 4th, 2020

We booked a non-refundable rate for this upcoming weekend - and due to COVID-19 restrictions and a major event cancellation - we were still able to get a full refund after contacting the online travel agent who worked with the hotel for a full refund given the circumstances beyond everyone's control. Even when things don't go as planned, great customer service is what keeps people coming back! Trust me, I'd much rather be on the beach at Perry's and at the Rockville festival this year than up here in cold gloomy Syracuse NY! I'll keep Perry's in mind if Rockville returns to Daytona in 2021. Thanks!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Aging 'resort' but overall acceptable for price

Mar 9th, 2020

We had a kitchenette (2 burner hot plate and kitchen sink, fridge/m'wave) which was helpful to do a few meals ourselves. Not a lot of restaurants down this end of the strip (at least in our price range), but grocery store across the road. STAFF helpful and 'nice' enough/helpful. We had a 3 night discount and price was reasonable. It used to be 4 diamond AAA - newspaper story there,... but it is aging. ... I can understand the word 'resort' might humour some patrons ... but major area was closed for our visit. Donuts made on site - just ok - lots of different toppings ... and available instant oatmeal, as well as coffee and OJ qualify it as 'continental b'fast' I guess. I've had similar: packaged donuts only as 'continental' b'fast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
