The resort sits on its own private island
Rooms do not have telephones, TVs or Wi-Fi access
This grouping of exclusive cottages can be found on the private island of Petit St. Vincent, roughly 4 miles southwest of Union Island. Built from local stone and wood, the resort's 22 cottages feature bright and airy decor, complete with fresh white, blue and green linens, stone walls and private wooden decks. When you're not lounging in your room or enjoying a massage at the Hillside Spa, you can take part in yoga classes, play a round of tennis or golf (the golf course is located on nearby Canouan Island) or set sail on the surrounding cerulean sea. After working up an appetite, past visitors recommend grabbing a bite to eat at the Beach Restaurant. Chairs are anchored into the sand, and meals are served under thatched roofs and palm trees. (If you prefer inside seating and heartier meals, you can also choose to dine at the Main Restaurant.) While recent guests gushed about the resort's beautiful grounds and attentive service, they also warned that if you're used to an all-inclusive Sandals-like experience, this isn't the retreat for you.

Critic Reviews

Condé Nast Traveler

Petit St Vincent is a private islet of just 135 acres in the Grenadines, the southernmost of the Lesser Antilles, an idyllic place of densely forested hills and coral-sand beaches, where the emptiness makes it feel like unclaimed wilderness. From its highest point, Marni Hill, you can see almost the entire Grenadines archipelago: the purple hills of St Vincent in the north; Grenada just about visible to the south.

Travel + Leisure

After a multimillion-dollar overhaul, the private-island resort reopened in November 2011 with new Balinese touches and a hillside spa. 22 stone-walled, thatched-roof cottages are done up in earthy tones and driftwood palapas now line the beach.

The easiest way to get to Petit St. Vincent is to fly to Union Island via St. Vincent. Make arrangements with the hotel to have its 'PSV boat' pick you up on Union Island.

Guest Rooms

Accommodations at Petit St. Vincent include one-bedroom cottages and two-bedroom beach villas. Each of the cottages are situated in different spots throughout the island, from the beaches to the bluffs. The cottages feature vaulted, purple heart wood ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, teak furniture, soft pastel accents and upscale amenities like Italian linens, luxury toiletries, Nespresso coffee makers and Bose iPod docking stations. Since none of the accommodations include televisions, Wi-Fi or telephones, a flag system is used to signal staff for service: Yellow flags indicate a service request, and red flags mean "do not disturb."
