This hotel booking was for a moms staycation - we wanted to lounge at the pool all day and nothigng else. What the hotel FAILED TO TELL US until we checked in onsite was that they have a 2 hour time window for you to use one of the 2 very small pools that are open PER DAY per room. You have to make a reservation. Also, if you get stuck in the old, non-renovated part of the hotel good luck. The furniture was all mismatched and looked like it was from the Goodwill. It smelled bad and was very run down and not at all what a room at a "resort" should look or smell like. The water park is closed down completely, as well as the lazy river and main pool, all of the restaurants and the room service. Why anyone would consider staying here is beyond me. Similar resorts like the Arizona Grand are fully operational and soo much cleaner. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. We booked a room at the AZ Grand for similar to what we paid at the Hilton and it was so much more enjoyable. Until restrictions are lifted, do not stay at this place. I struggle finding a reason to even consider it a "resort" right now. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location and Resort

Currently due to COVID . There quite a bit of stuff closed down . Rooms are comfy and nice clean . Didn’t check out the pool while we were here but seemed pretty hopping . There reserved times and water park is closed . Currently resort charge is not being charged this is nice . Cost is good . Staff was nice , and amazing. Josi F night auditor was very nice and helpful . We did run into couple issue but Maintenance staff was amazing along with security . I would definitely stay again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Okay, but there are better options

We did a staycation at the very end of June with two kids, ages 4 and 6. I will start by saying that it was in the midst of the pandemic, so I do realize that this may not be truly representative of a stay duing "normal" times. After reading reviews, we knew to book a suite in the renovated North Pointe building. Our room was awesome and had plenty of room for our family, including our dog. We were put directly next to an elevator on an upper floor, which seemed a little odd to us with young kids and a dog, since we knew the hotel was hardly booked at all. If we had been sleeping in the living room versus the bedroom, we absolutely would have needed to be moved - the noise from the elevator/people getting on and off was really disruptive. Thank goodness for suites! Check-in was fine, though we were extremely disappointed to learn that none of the restaurants were open AND they weren't even offering housekeeping because of covid. I had called ahead to ask about the pools (which WERE open), but nobody mentioned the restaurant. We specifically booked here so we could stay onsite for everything, so again, that was disappointing, but we managed. The resort fee also should have been prorated, or another concession should have been made. Now for the pools. River Ranch, the "park" with the lazy river, giant slide, multiple pools, and a poolside cafe, was open and is awesome. We really enjoyed our weekend there, but I can't imagine it as a couple or friends without kids. It's absolutely a family/kid-centric area. Plenty of rafts and chairs, plus room to spread out in the pools. The cafe food and drinks were okay, but we were shocked that there was NO staff roaming around taking orders. Not sure if that's normal or virus-related, but everyone had to wait in line and this seems like a huge missed opportunity on the resort's part. We also spent time in the North Pointe pool in the evenings and honestly, it was gross. Totally a party pool (as expected), but it was absolutely trashed all weekend with actual trash, dirty towels everywhere and no fresh ones, and the pools themselves had dirt and debris visible on the bottom. Yuk! We didn't experience any poor customer service like other recent reviews mentioned, but we did run into something odd. We extended our stay and while in the lobby, the clerk had an issue and walked away inexplicably. It turned out that her computer "freaked out" and our card was charged more than $1,200 (for a $140 room). It did eventually reverse itself, but we were never told what happened. All in all, we'd be willing to give this resort another try when the restaurants are open, but as it stands, there are much cleaner family-friendly resorts that offer more amenities. My family and I stayed here for 2 nights. The resort is very much in need of a refurbish. The rooms are tired, the pools were over crowded and guest service personnel not very friendly. As for towel service, as with COVID no maid service, and couldn’t even get wash cloths. Expected more for a resort rated 4 stars, no acknowledgement of Hilton platinum status (no room upgrade and late checkout 1 extra hour). Won’t stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Love this hotel normally but... one star only during era of Corona virus / Covid-19

So, we really were hoping this hotel would be safe to stay for a stay cation during the corona virus. But I didn't want to go if the pool was packed. So we drove by to see (we don't live very far from the property). My husband got out while we navigated a packed parking lot to take a look. These are the pics he took. It wasn't only crowded, I'd say it was worse than usual (and we stay every summer). Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this hotel for kids and the pool, golf, lazy river, etc. but no way are we going until this is all done. Just wished they had booked at like 50% at least.
