Rude wakeup call
Feb 8th, 2020
I recently returned from a night at this hotel. My husband and I were in town to attend a concert, and I wanted him to have an enjoyable overnight stay. I was a guest at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club in 2018 and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this trip. When we arrived, we noticed that a lot of construction was taking place on the golf course and along other areas of the property. Upon checking in, I commented on the construction and requested to be assigned to a room away from it. I was informed that my room was overlooking the lagoon so I would not be near the construction. However, when my husband and I drove over to our room, much to our dismay, we looked out from our balcony and observed and heard bulldozers and construction actively taking place behind our room. Due to the noise, we were unable to use our balcony. While I should have taken the time to have returned to the reception area and requested to be relocated to another building, I thought it would not be that bad considering that we were only staying one night. We left the room and didn't return until late that evening. The following morning, I was awakened by a loud repeated beeping noise before 8 a.m. I asked my husband if an alarm clock was going off in in a nearby room. He told me that he had been awakened by the same horrid beeping noise. However, he informed me that it was not coming from a clock in an adjacent room. He explained that the beeping was caused by construction equipment backing up. Sure enough, I looked outside and noticed a bulldozer in operation. When I called the registration desk, I received an apology for the early morning noise and was told the hotel would normally move me to a different building, but they could not do so since I was checking out that day. She later called back and said the manager would deduct the resort fee(roughly $30) from my bill. While this was appreciated, it certainly didn't make up for the rude wakeup call. When I'm a guest at a hotel, especially one rated as highly as the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, my goals are to receive a decent night of sleep and to relax. Unfortunately, the construction hampered my ability to accomplish either objective. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Spontaneous one night was fantastic

We booked this at the very last minute and as a splurge while visiting the area. We had been checking out of a hotel in Saint Augustine and called ahead. The gentleman who booked our reservation said the room was ready and we could come at any time. Since we were checking out at 11 and check-in was not till 4 this was such a huge bonus to us to be able to get in early. When we got there the place was fabulous....a bit ritzy for us but we loved it. Wonderful service and friendliness from all staff. The beach was gorgeous. We only ate at the Beach (shack?) and the Tavern but all food was good. Our room at the Inn was great(except for the shower curtain problems) and loved that we had a wonderful courtyard off our room to go outside as well as balcony with view of the water. Would absolutely come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The property was amazing and Tom was so helpful with getting around the area and providing safety for 4 girls.

The room was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Our view was amazing right outside our back door. We had easy access to the beach, heated pool and hot tub. The location was central to anything we needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Located right on a beautiful beach just out of Jacksonville, this resort offers all the amenities you'd wish for in a 5 diamond resort. From the moment I stepped in the lobby I sensed that my stay would be memorable. Let me begin by complimenting the staff. Everyone... EVERYONE we interacted with during our entire stay made us feel like we were the only people in the resort. They focused on us, and our needs and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and wanted. Secondly, the property itself; it was immaculate. I never saw so much as a cigarette butt on the grounds: not one spider web in a corner, inside or out: no cracks in walls. The room itself was spacious and well furnished with all the items big and small that most travelers would desire. Irons and ironing boards, blow dryer, microwave, refrigerator, robes, slippers (which you can keep), sewing kit, q-tips, soaps and shampoos and body lotions, plenty of towels, clothes racks in the closet, and on and on. The bed was very, very comfortable with amazing pillows. AND, if you don't like your pillow, let them know, there are different kinds to choose from. They also have a turn down service with great little chocolates. All in all this was one of the nicest places we've stayed. As a matter of fact, we intend to stay here again soon: we're already making plans. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Anytime you the opportunity to stay here you find yourself surrounded with southern charm. Resort continues to update their property and golf courses. The bar is a wonderful area with great service. However we found breakfast to not be the case. They had a buffet in an adjoining room but no one mentioned it. Had to ask for additional servings of water and coffee. My wife’s bread came out cold TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
