A new breed of boutique hotel is sprouting up along the Dominican Republic's Caribbean coast, giving the area’s massive all-inclusive resorts some serious competition. ... The 11-acre grounds are dotted with sea grape trees and two-story terracotta villas, which house 55 large, handsome suites, all with floor-to-ceiling oceanfront windows and bathrooms furnished with soaking tubs and spacious showers (both built for two).
The best things really do come in small packages at this romantic boutique hotel, which delivers on its promise of expressly personal service and utter tranquility. Zen elements in the architecture, design, and mood of this secluded retreat work well in the natural setting, with indigenous vegetation used in the landscaping.
One of the few boutique hotels in Punta Cana, the quiet, 55-room adult-only Sivory lures couples to its secluded location – about a (bumpy) 60-minute ride from the airport. Service is impressive, as is the natural setting, and the beach is free of hawkers and tourists.
This boutique all-adults hotel is a place for those who want peace and quiet away from the big resorts, a modestly-sized resort of just 55 suites isolated at the end of the line of resorts on Uvero Alto – already the northernmost beach of the Punta Cana coastline. Of course, being away from it all does mean that it is a bit of a drive to get to most activities.
