Good location but a bit noisy (ask for high up room at the back)

First stay here. Good location near Brussels Nord station (make sure you leave the station the by the City exit, it’s not a nice area the other way) Staff helpful. Rooms well furnished (Nespresso machine, decent sized desk, mini bar etc and a window you can open) with decent speed free Wi-fi. Although as other reviews mentioned beds are very soft. Let me start with the (few) good things about this hotel. The staff at the reception and the cleaning lady are friendly and the location is quite good. You’ll be in walking distance to the city center and very near to a metro and Gare du Nord. About the rest, I can start by the arrival. We were placed in a room where the window lock had been ripped off, so the window didn’t close properly and there was a hole where the lock should be... this was in December and the room was freezing. We went at the reception and the maintenance guy new about this and say it could not be fixed. There were no more rooms available, so I asked if at least they could put some tape to close the window and they did. Second day, we went to get another room and they provided us with a room with the tiniest shower I ever saw in my life, but at least the window closed. The rooms are not very well cleaned and the hotel could use a paint job in some places. The beds are incredibly soft, we really sunk in and for us this was not comfortable at all. Breakfast is very, very basic and you might have to “fight” with the service to let you finish or refill the depleted bread or even plates. Room service is a joke. We tried one day, they said the kitchen was closed but would call us back in 5 minutes. The eventually called back after one and a half hour and seemed surprised when I said i didn’t wanted it anymore. All in all a very bad experience that could ruin our vacations if Brussels wasn’t such a nice city. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Good transport hub but too noisey

Somewhat confusing layout to find this hotel which seems to be part of 3 in a group sharing a building. Excellent centre for transport as it is within 10 mins walk of Gare du Nord and by Rogier Metro and loads of bus stops. That is the problem! From 0500 it is so noisy with the Metro grumbling away underneath the building. Impossible to sleep. The building is soulless and breakfast was mediocre. Everyone seemed in a bad mood – maybe they hadn’t slept either. There is a strange Trompe D’Oeil on one wall high up from the reception area. Safety is good as you have to use your key-card to enter the building in the evening. Very thin carpets in the room. We had been promised slippers on the website but there were none. Very poor hairdryer Kettle and Nespresso machine were good. The toaster machine is by a doorway so everyone waiting to toast their bread gets in the way of others trying to pass by to get jam or fruit. The bar was poorly stocked; we ordered a Baileys and an Armagnac – both on the bar list but not available. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location and value, comfy hotel

This hotel is very conveniently located a 20 min train ride from the airport, 5 mins walking from Gare du Nord and right next to metro stop Rogier, and in walking distance to the city center. Staff was gracious and the room spacious and comfortable and equipped with all once needs (blow dryer that actually worked, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, large desk, closet etc.). The bed was comfy, the wifi worked impeccably and the bathroom had a tub and nice toiletries. The a/c was working well but I couldn't figure out how to regulate it. Also ordered room service one night and it was delivered promptly and good quality. The price for all this was excellent, really good value - much better than at other places in this area. It was a very unpleasant experience for me. The entire interaction with the hotel had to be stopping them from stealing just more money. Reservation through booking. They took the money immediately after the booking. But! they charged 36 extra euros per night than the booking price. They needed several months to return the extra money, as they had to follow internal processes (!!!) Then, it was a noshow from me. However, they took the money from the card again (!!!) Making me to pay twice the same room. I saw this immediately and phoned them. Of course, they initially said managers approval is necessary to cancel the second transaction(!!!) In the very end, they accepted to give back what was not theirs. Wish I never met such people. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
