This all-inclusive resort in Mazatlan's Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) earns high praise for its superior customer service. And past visitors only have positive things to say about the appearance of the property. Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán's 247 suites feature kitchenettes, feather-top beds and private balconies or patios overlooking the ocean. But you won't want to spend all of your time indoors. Daytime activities range from cooking classes and Spanish seminars to nature preserve tours and aqua aerobics lessons. The property features two outdoor swimming pools with swim-up bars and easy access to Old Mazatlán and other popular attractions. You can also hop on the complimentary hourly shuttle north to the resort's sister property, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, where you can enjoy a soothing massage or body treatment at The Armonia Spa. Although you will have to pay for spa treatments, you can rest easy knowing that meals, snacks and drinks at the resort's three on-site eateries, deli and coffee shop are covered by the property's optional all-inclusive package.

This family-friendly resort in Mazatlán’s so-called Golden Zone— a six-mile-long stretch of sublime beaches—manages to eschew the impersonal, sometimes offhand nature of all-inclusive: in fact, readers rated it No. 3 of all the resorts in Mexico [2014] for service, and were similarly impressed with the food.

Not far from the upscale marina, Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán enjoys a prime location just off the area’s most popular strip of sand in Mazatlán’s Zona Dorada (Golden Zone), but is far enough down the strip to have less of a party scene in the evenings. The terracotta-colored main building surrounds two large swimming pools—beach access is over the bridge across the pool. Bookings at this property are completely all-inclusive of meals and snacks.
  • The Mazatlán Airport is just under 20 miles away. The property partners with Bonita Travel to offer $26 round trip airport transfer ($14 for one-way), this must be booked separately from accommodations

The property has three restaurants: Angelo’s Gourmet, Las Palomas and Cilantro’s. In addition, there is a deli, a coffee shop and the ability to order snacks and drinks poolside; guests can choose to order from the in-room dining menu. Angelo’s Gourmet Restaurant is open for dinner only from 6 p.m. til midnight and serves Northern Italian and international cuisine to nightly piano music. Cilantro’s is the only lunch venue on the premises (it also serves dinner). There you’ll find seafood and international cuisine served on an outdoor terrace.

The property boasts two large, irregularly shaped pools with rounded edges. A variety of depths in both wading pools accommodate all ages, and a swim-under bridge divides the adjacent pools. White deck chairs and large beach umbrellas are evenly spaced along the decks ringing the pools.

Unfortunately, the Kid’s Club at the Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán was recently cancelled and there are no longer regularly programmed activities for kids. Kids will enjoy the two large wading pools and the beach, and parents will like the ability to arrange childcare with hotel staff trained in first aid and emergency care for around $9.50 per hour.
