Zero social distance applies and over priced To say the least !

Jul 26th, 2020

The entire puente Romano Place is lovely but it is very crowded square that has joints of few good restaurants and no one there controls or apply any rules of distances Due to Covid . All restaurants there have their table back to back to one another and the bar ( central bar I think it called ) that is based at the centre same . ( the only place that controls the social rule was the actual hotel puente Romano bar terrace !) so at that central bar spot All they care about is that you booked ahead but when you actually getting in to seat down you discovering that you are literally sharing the seated sofas with some random strangers . On top of it if you decide to have a pre or post drinks at the central bar there please expect to pay 12 EUR for a small bottle of water ( oh yes !!! No sure it’s even legal ) and 18-20 EUR for normal mixed drink . The place is full of young girls and older guys with money so if it’s not the kind of atmosphere you are after just avoid lingering there for any post dinner drinks . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel. Great staff.

Jul 19th, 2020

The hotel is designed like a small Andalucian village and whilst this is quite a large hotel, this design makes it feel more intimate. It is a member of the leading hotels of the world and rooms are suite only with different grades available, villas too. Beautiful grounds. Located on the Golden Mile between Marbella and Puerto Banus it is a resort hotel- plenty of taxis available of you do not have a car. Public areas have an understated luxury- feels like a exclusive boutique hotel. Bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed. Staff are extremely customer focussed and are always seem to be there when you need them and fade into the background when you do not ! Excellent choice of restaurant including Danni Garcia which is a wonderful dining experience. Covid19 times mean that the breakfast buffet has had to go but they do now have a staff assisted buffet ( basically keep your hands to yourself!) and social distancing is encouraged! Alternatively you can have breakfast in your room at no additional charge. A wonderful relaxing break but at a price. Entry level rooms come in at over £500 per night and climb to over £1000 for large luxury suites. However to escape into a luxury cocoon for a few days it is worth it ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Plaza Drinks area couldn't even serve us a vodka and fresh orange juice

Jul 18th, 2020

I visited this hotel last night for drinks with my sister in the main outside bar area. When my sister asked for a vodka and fresh orange juice she was told by the waiter they don't have fresh orange juice. She then asked for an Amaretto sour and she was told they don't stock Amaretto. This is incredible in what is meant to be a 5 star luxury hotel. The drinks are also overpriced, mediocre and they don't even bring you as much as an olive .This is not 5 star or luxury treatment. I would go to the Marbella Beach club next time TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disappointing

Jul 12th, 2020

We booked a junior suite for a 2 night weekend break . Despite requesting a firm mattress on booking and also at check in , the mattress was extremely soft and well worn . It took 2 hours to rectify this problem after numerous phone calls to reception which resulted in us sitting in the room waiting , not a good start . Parking is very difficult anywhere in the complex and the complex on a whole is an old 70s style village which has been re vamped to a certain extent . Lots of stairs everywhere so for anyone with mobility issues , this would be very difficult . The room we had on the ground floor , down 1 set of stairs was slightly musty and quite noisy from scraping furniture in the above apartment . Towels in the bathroom were of a cheap material, very well worn and not the luxury I expect for a room costing 500 plus euro a night . Shower cubicle was very small , with the door closed it was an inch from your face . The breakfast experience in the sea grill under current legislation with the corona virus lacked social distancing even though it was supposed to be a la carte with guests sitting down it was clearly a buffet with guests queuing all crowded together . We walked out feeling very uncomfortable and asked for a breakfast to be delivered to our room . All in all this stay left us disappointed, we would not come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Returning holiday

Jul 11th, 2020

Absolutely fantastic yet again! Well done to all the Team for preparing the Hotel during the difficult times we’ve all been through recently it was fabulous! Very nice room upgrade to help us celebrate my Fiancé’s 50th Birthday - thank you so much. The new additions(Les Jardins/Lena/NOBU by the Beach) were all first class as has all the improvements over the years. We will be back again in September! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
