This motel was perfect for our first weekend away this year. Great location and service and our room was perfect. We had a wonderful view of the harbour and bridge just the ferry’s did wake us up in the morning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our room had a balcony with a sensational view over the quay however the room was not clean. There was a really suspect stain on the carpet next to the bed, some weird deposit on the wall of the bathroom and glass on the balcony. Unfortunately I did not notice any of this on the evening I checked in as I was very tired. The following morning I brought it to management's attention and it would appear they knew about the carpet. To be fair they did offer to change rooms but we just wanted it cleaned. This did not happen. We threw a towel over it and stepped around it. Our choice but I don't understand why this room was even given to us in the first place. We are gold Accor members and that made no difference. Further we requested a late checkout and when pushed they gave us till 1pm however we had "security" knocking on our door at midday to question why we had not vacated the room. All in all the balcony with the great view wouldn't be enough to get me back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Surprisingly tired and poorly maintained

Fading and rumpled carpets. Flickering old fluorescent lights (like from the 90s). Jet engine loud air con, peeling paint. For a prime position hotel, it feels surprisingly dated on the inside, and even more poorly maintained. Take the restaurant for example. During COVID times, you'd think it gets a lot of cleaning. But the carpet is hideous, and by the window its just crumb central. Food was nice though. Staff are friendly and warm. Harbour view is nice. Hotel was busy so they couldn't do a late check out. But for the price, this didn't deliver. Not in the same quality league as the Sofitel or Shangrila, which I have paid similar or less to stay in I'll return once there is a complete reno done. Until, skip and leave it as a tourist trap Booked due to being an Accor Plus member. This and the Sofitel are billed as the premium Sydney offerings. World apart though TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good property but no breakfast during the week first apartment was not renovated which was a surprise as the first time I stayed there the same room I paid for the same price was brilliantly renovated the second time I stayed there the room was old with old carpet and smaller TV which was totally different to my first experience TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed for 2 nights at the Quay Grand last week and were very pleased with our choice. Although our harbour view room was still one of the rooms to be upgraded and was quite shabby in parts our overall expectations were more than met. With a wonderful view, decent sized balcony and very well laid out room, we were very happy with our choice. In a front row position on Circular Quay how much time do you need to spend in your room? Disappointed about no breakfast service and the restaurant being closed but under the present restrictions we understood the decision. The downside was the Hacienda bar. We went there for an afternoon drink last Sunday and were confronted by a loud noisy atmosphere. Although there was a scan sign in at the door there was no one policing it and people just walked in and out. When we arrived at about 5.30 we were told we would only be allowed in for one drink as last drinks were being served. While we were finishing our "last drink" we observed several large groups still being served. Also there was no policing of people staying in their seats. I assume that the Hacienda would be on a separate lease, but it would be better for the hotel to have their own bar area. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would compliment all the staff we met with their professionalism and service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
