Some Good Parts and Some Not So Good

Jul 9th, 2019

I always try to find a hotel that is close to St. Catherine's street as that's my favorite part of Montreal. This one is close but not to the good stuff. I was disappointed by how far it really was from the street. There is also tons and tons of construction everywhere in downtown Montreal so it can make finding places tricky. We even got a flat tire due to a nail and probably picked it up around the hotel due to that construction. Side note - there is a ton of construction on the highway too. We're actually going to wait before returning and hope the construction has moved away from the downtown by the next trip. The hotel is two hotels in one. The man who checked us in (he was lovely - he was there at check out too and just fun to interact with) told us one side is more expensive. I'm guessing the other side as it had a fancier entrance. Our room was okay. The AC worked great and it had a nice view with a little window built in to look out. The television was small, as was the fridge but nice to have. Oddly, there was no fan in the bathroom. The shower didn't work great our first two days with low water pressure but was fine by the end of our stay. The bed was comfortable. A little too soft for me. I liked the chair near the window. Very relaxing. Noise levels were fine, never heard the neighbors. I didn't try the breakfast. Not a bad room for a few days and I would rate that more a 4. The parking situation wasn't great. They have a parking area that is $25 a day plus tax. Pretty expensive. I think if you want to shop around you could find on street or parking garages and save money. It was also very small with huge columns you had to avoid. It took quite some time to fit into and get out of the spots each night. I felt very disappointed by the parking honestly. Another weird issue was the constantly changing wifi password. I've never had a hotel where each day it was a new password. And they didn't tell me this at check-in so each night we'd return and I'd fail at connecting and have to call down to the desk. One night, I had to call four times before anyone answered and they seemed a bit rude and put off about having to give me the latest password. That was annoying. So, in short - room was a solid 4. Location and garage and password issues put it solidly at a three. I would not stay here again with all the options in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Basic hotel

Jun 15th, 2019

We came here Grand Prix weekend and most other hotel prices were extreme. This place is affordable and in a reasonable location, they are fairly big rooms with comfortable beds but the amenities and rooms are quite old and basic. Good cheap hotel but definitely no frills. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not very nice service.

Jun 11th, 2019

They did not honor my reservation even though I received confirmation from them via email. Offered alternative room and increased price and lesser room. Then they retracted their offer There for the F1 Grand Prix so the city was totally booked. They didn't care at all. Careful they will cancel on you for the sake of selling at increased price. Great location, decent accommodation

Jun 6th, 2019

Overall I had a good stay at Lelux, the room was comfortable and clean, but definitely noisy hallways I could hear every movement and conversation. What they do have is EXCELLENT staff, from beginning to end they were cheerful and accommodating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
