Not a Pretty Picture

Jan 3rd, 2020

We were very disappointed with our stay at this Quality Inn . In the past we have stayed here and we had a nice stay and felt that the staff overall were very professional and personable and that is why we came back , and based on the recent reviews. Pros: Staff remains pleasant and professional and this review is not about them, rather the Condition and practices at the hotel. The water was hot for the shower and the room warmed up quickly, but the water Drained slowly from the tub The TV was new and had good reception Cons: The outside of the building was littered with a lot of cigarette butts, people were Outside of their rooms smoking, some of them looked like shady characters There was also those small alcohol bottles in the parking lot The room next to ours, we were on the first floor had yellow caution tape over it There was dog feces on the lawn next to that room, we realize that cleaning up after Your pet is the guests responsibility, but there were no doggie waste bags or instructions that we could see as in other hotels we have visited The maintenance man was handling the breakfast area, he did not have an apron or gloves on and that seemed very unsanitary, but he is the maintenance man, in the past they had a breakfast server. The breakfast food was not restocked, there was no waffle batter, we had to ask for yogurts and they gave us some. We have provided two pictures for you to view. The sheets and pillow cases were very worn and nubby The towels seemed new and nice and they were clean but the room was not vacuumed very well The housekeeper was very pleasant and took care of it. We were told that the property has new owners, We wish them well, but we will definitely not be going back. We did not want to write this review due in great part to the staff being so nice, But We didn't want to not inform fellow travelers of what we experienced. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Mold, Cigarette Smell, and a Bonus

Dec 27th, 2019

We arrived at the Quality Inn in Newark after an 11-hour drive with two toddlers, and our hearts sank a little when we walked into our room only to be greeted by a heavy smell of cigarettes. I pulled the curtains back to open the window a little in hopes that some fresh air would improve the heavy atmosphere in the room only to discover mold on the frame of the windows. The added bonus was when we lifted the toilet seat cover only to be greeted by a smudge of excrement. We were all too tired to make a fuss over this, so we made the best out of a bad situation. I would not justify any of this by saying “you pay for what you get” as sanitary conditions should be a minimum requirement for any establishment that deals with hospitality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Value

Friendly staff. Continental Breakfast and a Gym. Rooms are older but well kept and clean. For the price you can’t beat this place. Shopping and several restaurants close by. Great location! Highly Recommended for anyone on a budget TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Little Motel That Can

Oct 29th, 2019

I am of the firm belief that the quality of a hotel/motel stay depends on the efforts of the innkeepers. I have had good and bad stays at many chains. This staff tries hard and does a good job. They work with a somewhat odd motel with modest facilities. It has two floors with exterior room doors and a third floor with interior hallways. It is within sight of I-95, Delaware Route 7 and Churchman's Road, all very busy. We asked for a third floor room as far from I-95 as possible, and wound up with a room at the north end of the property overlooking a commercial center parking lot and Churchman's Road. We had a few noise issues. The commercial center got a leaf blowoff at 3 am one morning. There were several noisy dumpster pickups in the wee hours. Churchman's Road had some rush hour traffic startups at a nearby red light. None of these was serious, and the HVAC fan muffled them if necessary. We slept with the fan off most of the time. The motel was clean and in very good condition. My wife liked the easy chair. The bathroom was compact with limited counter space, but we made do without difficulty. The beds were comfortable, and we heard almost no noise within the motel at all. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed it. The server was very pleasant. With roads heading off in all directions, the Quality Inn proved a good location for our events (we stayed six nights). Restaurants are close by. Our stay was a success and we would stay here again. Nice stay

Oct 21st, 2019

This was one of the only hotels available in the area for the weekend we needed. The room price was inflated due to all hotels in area having limited availability. But in spite of that ,check in only took minutes, Room was clean, beds very comfortable. Bathroom very small but adequate. Had 2 double beds for 2 adults but if there were 4 people, it would be tight getting around.tv size on the small size with limited available channels - could not watch Baseball ALCS . Free breakfast provided in small area in lobby. Coffee was good , make your own waffles was also good . Bagels, English muffins were good. Cold cereal available . Scrambled eggs looked scary & didn’t try . Parking was easy & check out very fast TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
