Avoid this Hotel

Jul 15th, 2019

There are so many other cute, charming places for just a few dollars more per night that you really, really have to not stay here. The rooms are dated and dirty, the outside is atrocious and looks nothing like the photo and the breakfast is a joke (outdate yogurt seved day after day). Every day we were there (3 days and 2 nights) I regretted staying here as opposed to anywhere in town. This place is not in Bar Harbor FYI, you need to drive in and pay for parking. Convenient and clean

Jul 14th, 2019

Stayed 2 nights recently on a trip taking us eventually to Nova Scotia and back. Room was clean and staff personable. They serve a decent buffet breakfast included with the price. It is real easy to get to Cadillac Mountain to catch a sunrise or sunset. An easy 15-20 minute walk to the downtown. Staff will say 10-15 but it is closer to 20. I’d recommend it for a short 2-3 day stay in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Facility - Great Stay

Jul 9th, 2019

The rooms and lobby area of this property have been remodeled. As a frequent Hilton/Marriott customer I was a bit hesitant in choosing this property, but did so based on the location and other reviews. Overall, we were blown away with the accommodations and level of service we received. This place is on par with other higher end hotels. We spent 3 nights here, just before the July 4th holiday. Would stay again if in the area. There is the main 2 story building, and another area off to the left that consists of 5 single story buildings, each containing 4 rooms. We stayed in one of those rooms, that i believe is listed as sleeping 5. It had 2 queen beds and a small sleeper sofa/love seat. The room had recently been completely renovated (front desk said 2018), and we couldn't have been happier. New windows, doors, carpet, wall coverings and a complete bathroom renovation. A top notch job. We appreciated the chairs on the patio area outside the guest room door for relaxing outside in the morning & evening. Housekeeping did a fantastic job of ensuring the room was clean and ready for check-in. They're very particular and don't appear to rush through a room. Breakfast is housed in yet another building located across the street. That building is a bit older, but was clean. The breakfast options were endless, and the staff running the show (Lori) was fantastic. They even had gluten free bagels and muffins. Location is right on the edge of town, and is walk-able to the down-town Bar Harbor area. Parking in bar harbor is at a premium, so we were able to leave the car at the hotel and walk into town each day. 2 suggestions - a nightlight in the room/bathroom would be helpful, and I wish there was a tiled area inside the room door as opposed to carpet. 4th of July Holiday

Jul 6th, 2019

This was our second stay here at this hotel. We will definitely be back to Bar Harbor and will be staying here. We are Choice Point members and this is by far the best hotel Choices has on its roster. The staff were super friendly and more than accommodating, and our room was super clean. We utilized the pool, the laundry room and enjoyed a top notch breakfast. We have never been to a hotel breakfast buffet where you have staff happy to see you and pour you a fresh cup of coffee. Great location and phenomenal staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel and location

Jul 5th, 2019

My family of 4 stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Bar Harbor over the 4th of July. The staff is very accommodating, the rooms are clean and they have free, delicious whoopie pies ( a Maine specialty) in the lobby. The free breakfast is the best we've seen for this type of hotel. It has many different options and switched up the eggs and pancakes/French toast daily. For the July 4th parade, the staff put out many chairs in the shade for the guests since the parade passed by the hotel. The hotel is located at the edge of the downtown, so it was only a 10-15 minute walk to many restaurants and shops. Room tip: ask for one of the rooms in the separate building next door. They are a bit bigger and feel more like a cabin than a hotel. They also are one story, so no one above or below you. The downside is that you need to carry luggage up a small hill and a few stairs.
