Very accommodating staff

Oct 22nd, 2019

I was a bit nervous about my staff, due to recent reviews of this property on Trip Advisor. It was the closest Choice Hotels property to my business consult. Boy was I so pleasantly surprised. Yes, this property is older and it is in a well traveled part of the city. And, yes, equipmthe hotel is under renovation by a new owner. I am relatively discerning and was quite happy with my five day stay. From the very beginning, when I was checked in by Diana at the front desk i was welcomed warmly and routinely asked if my stay was going well, if there was anything I needed. The room was in good repair, and had recently been renovated. Allent was in place and in good operating condition. The bed was firm, clean, and sleep inducing. Air conditioning held the desert heatat bay, and the plumbing and water pressure were great. The microwave and refrigerator were welcome and cleaned. Although coffee was available 24 hours in the Lobby, I do like having the in room set up. The breakfast room was clean and well lighted and was stocked. Not ever sure what people expect in this price range, but, I felt there were adequate selections. The pool was clean and comfortable and the hot tub looked inviting! The parking and grounds were well groomed and although there were many less fortunate in the immediate neighborhood, it is obvious the staff monitors the comings and goings on property! Special recognition to the front desk staff of Diana, Arun and Lewis. These staff are to be commended! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Used to be nice, not any more

Oct 21st, 2019

This place used to be nice when I reviewed it in 2012. Not any more - maybe the owners changed. Dust everywhere with construction stuff all over the property. Check in was fine. Room was just ok. The bathroom towels were threadbare - I have never seen a towel thinner and I do stay in a lot of Choice Hotels. The breakfast for not much. They seem to have just one employ, she takes care of the front desk, runs to the breakfast area to replanish what she can, and also vacuums the floor in that area. Someone earlier said about a fake add on charge to the bill and I see that too. My base booking rate was $45 to which they added $13.42 in taxes! This add on includes a $4 Hospitality fee - I stayed in Tucson not at Las Vegas!. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

OK

Oct 17th, 2019

Guy at front desk was nice. Bed was ok. There were a couple small burn holes in one beds comforter. Saw a bug in the bathroom. Pool was dirty and hot tub was less than desirable. Slept ok. Would I book again? No. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent older property with potential

Sep 8th, 2019

I normally like to stay in older 1940's - 1960's era motels to support historical properties, and this is certainly one of them. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The first room I received, on the ground level, had a weird musty type smell, but I kept the window open for a bit and seemed to take care of it. But then TV was not working properly and the girl was unable to figure it out after coming to the room, so she offered another room, which was much appreciated. The second room was far better, on the second floor and no musty smell. TV worked fine, and overall it was very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. It was apparent that improvements were being made to the motel, including re-doing the second floor walkways. The one think I would say is that more attention to keeping the grounds clean would go a far ways with first impressions. I noticed bags of garbage sitting around, loose trash here and there, and a lot of stains on the walkways (presumably spilled coke everywhere?). It would be much nicer if these details were addressed. The motel is in the historical Miracle Mile area, which apparently has seen better days. The girl at the front desk, as part of her introduction speech, mentioned that overnight security was provided. I myself did not experience any security issues, other than a weirdo boxing and kicking at his shadow at the gas station across the street. The motel has that classic architecture and a great neon sign. It has potential to be a great, class motel, just needs some attention. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Owner is a CHEATER !! MAKES UP FAKE HOSPITALITY FEE on charge !! Does not respond to Emails !

Aug 31st, 2019

This place is a dirty scam !! We were there to drop our son to UA. The place is cheap, rooms are dirty, AC in some rooms do not work ! The construction going on the hotel blows cancer causing smoke right to your room. The owner sneaks in a small "Hospitality Fee" - $4 per night - and most people do not notice it on check out. When we caught it, we were told to contact the owner of the property - we emailed - and never heard back. Now I am talking to Quality Inn and my credit card company. The City of Tuscon should investigate this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
