Friendliest, quietest, most comfortable and reasonably priced hotel I've ever been to

Jan 7th, 2020

The entire hotel staff was EXTREMELY helpful and thoughtful, and Mr. Charles Bryant at the front desk was more than kind and considerate in every particular. The rooms were huge with a separate sitting area, the bed comfortable, and things were very quiet. The breakfast was expansive and good (love the waffles.) The off-season price could not be beat. AND there's an indoor pool open from 10 to 10 for those who want to swim in January, but not in 44 degree water at the beach (which is only a short walk away.) A great stay, Mahalo from Hawaii. Avoid at All Cost!!!

Dec 15th, 2019

Oddly enough, l stayed at this hotel a year ago. I had a lot to say about it then. But l ended by saying it would not be my first option, but l wouldn’t rule it out if it were my only option. Please be clear, l will NEVER stay there again. A year ago, l stated that the staff was really nice which helps when you are in a dated hotel. A lot changes in a year. When l approached the front desk, there was a man and a woman. The man, Amhad, to be specific decided to pop some food in his mouth before he greeted me. Once, he was done chewing, he was able to check me in. I personally don’t think you should be eating while on front desk duty and l should note that he is a supervisor. My family and l head to the room. It was still dated and just didn’t feel clean. I head downstairs to request a different room. Amhad tells me he really doesn’t have anything to move me to. As l head back to my room, my sister calls to tell me that the tub is not clean and there is hair in the tub. I go back downstairs to share that l need someone to clean the room. The woman at the desk seems irritated and states that either she or Amhad would have to do it. At this point, l call Expedia to try and leave the hotel. To be clear, the room was very dusty, there was spilled food, old stains from drinks on most of the counter tops. Microwave looked like something had exploded in it. Amhad tells Expedia that they are not going to offer a refund. So, Amhad calls the room and offers me a different room. I walk to the new room and truthfully, l had zero confidence it was any better. I drive to the store to buy bathroom cleaner, Lysol and Clorox wipes and literally clean my room. I wiped dried up ketchup and other dried up stuff. As we prepare for bed, we find out one of the beds does not have a comforter and the pull out sofa bed has sheets with hair all on them. The highlight of the hotel was Charles on the 3rd shift. He was hospitable and actually cared. He brought us a comforter and changed the sheets on the pull out bed. He saved the day! The next morning, l speak with Christine who is a manager. She apologizes for my issues and offers to refund $100 back to my card and states she will have to go through Expedia. She tells me to find the cleaning person and tell them to clean out my microwave. I did it but that was not my responsibility to hunt down hotel staff. I did find the cleaning lady in a room on her phone. She seemed a little attitudinal at first but given that l was not her supervisor or staff, l get it. A week later, l reach out to Expedia because nothing had been refunded. Expedia calls the hotel and gets the run around. I call the hotel and speak to Nicole who states she will contact Expedia and take care of it. Not sure what happens but she uses the credit card, l had on file for incidentals and charges it $100. When l call the next day to flag it, l get charged another $100. That’s $200 out of my bank account. She apologizes and reaches out to another manager for assistance and promises to call me back before her shift ended. Guess what, l heard nothing back. Eventually, through lots of follow-up and getting my bank involved, my money was refunded. Just do yourself a favor and pay a little more and avoid what l went through. Not worth it. Promise! Nice Location

Nov 21st, 2019

Very friendly check in. Room was large and very comfortable. Nice fifteen minute walk to the main street. Breakfast was not bad but could have been better. Right on the coastal highway so easy access to all the shopping. Probably would stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our stay at this Quality Inn was just great from check-in with Amanda to check-out with her. She was a delight, friendly and extremely helpful, going out of her way to help us with a problem not even related to our stay. Charles, the Front Desk person on Duty in the evening was also very helpful. Our room was large and clean. The beds were very comfortable. Their Breakfast in the morning included make-your-own waffles, sausage patties, eggs 3 ways, along with the usual yogurts, hot & cold cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, breads for toasting, pastries, juices and really good coffee. We left full & happy !!! Would definite stay again !!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ok for a short stay

Oct 5th, 2019

Nothing special, but ok for a short stay. With proper cleaning and some renovation it could be a good hotel. The pool is nice to have, but quite small and also not very clean (black mold). Windows cannot be opened, unfortunately. Reception staff was friendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
