Run down it’s to bad

Jan 4th, 2020

The saying you get what you paid for applies here. Extremely run down and needs major up grades. Staff is friendly and you can tell they clean but because everything is so old and worn out it looks dirty and dingy. Great location to down town rooms are very spacious as well. I would suggest they make better use of bathroom space. If you want guests to reuse towels then please place extra hooks up for drying. Also the pool area has a space that’s is wasted. If should be used for adults to just be able to hang out in the evening. Again it’s just economical. Alittle elbow grease what makes this place shine TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not so much "Quality"

Oct 7th, 2019

This property has four buildings, one small motel along the Saranac Avenue, one larger further up the driveway and a couple of lodges facing Paradox Bay of Lake Placid. I was assigned a spacious room with two queen beds, filled with worn furniture including desk, chair, dresser, fridge with freezer shelf and a microwave. A small balcony with chairs gave a street view and mountains in the background. The carpet was stained and the room smelled like a thousand sweaty socks were hidden somewhere. The mattress was worn and sinking, the bathroom very small with thin towels and mildew in the shower. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors talk, run water and close doors. Breakfast was served in the large building uphill in a spacious room with rotten ceiling and peeling paint. The stairs and deck leading to the building are shut off because the wood is rotten and leaning. The breakfast is good, including meat products, egg products, breads, muffins, bagels, cereal, waffle maker, juice and good coffee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

good price and location but room location the pits

Oct 5th, 2019

we had a room adjacent to indoor swim pool which was used and very noisy until almost 11 p.m. Tried to drown out noise with the heat but after 5 minutes it started blowing cold air. Won't stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent stay

Sep 17th, 2019

We stayed two nights here on our visit to lake placid. The hotel is located within walking distance to the center of town. As others have mentioned the buildings are starting to show signs of age and are a little rundown. The room was clean and spacious and the hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s a decent budget hotel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Will not return

Sep 2nd, 2019

We stay at budget hotels all the time and do not expect much except for a clean room. We are staying here for 3 days and cannot even put our clothes in any of the 4 dresser drawers because they all have crumbs and pieces of Doritos or chips in them so we are living out of our bags. The sliding glass door in the room is so streaked and gross it is obvious it has not been cleaned in months. The sliding glass door track has cobwebs and a lot of bugs and dirt things in it. The entire place is falling apart and it is obvious no maintenance is being done on it. The stairs going down the hill from the parking lot are broken and is half blocked off. The other stairs are usable but scary. No wood available for the fire pit outside, even to buy. The outside lake area was the only reason we stayed here instead of in town but we hang out in the pool area in the evening so we don't have to sit in the room or by the lake with no fire. The rocks and grassy areas have the potential to make the property beautiful if the lawn was ever mowed or weeded. Breakfast was good and the staff seem OK, but my recommendation would be to find some place else. And for the record, this is only the 2nd review I have ever written on TripAdvisor. The first one was over a dozen years ago. That is how much this hotel skeeves me out. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
