Several Nights close to UNM Sports Complexs

Jan 6th, 2020

This hotel is right off I-25 and is close to the airport and UNM sporting events, but further away from UNM and Downtown where we spent most our time. However, I didn't pick the hotel myself as my friend booked it further in advance and mentioned it was in a better area than those hotels closer to downtown or the campus. As well we were going to a UNM basketball anyways during the 2 night stay. Since I didn't book it, I can't comment on the staff as I had no interaction with them, but did notice in the morning there were donuts out. Room was actually pretty big with a main room with a large bed and a living room near the front door with a pull out couch bed. Both rooms had their own TV and the bathroom and sink area separated the two rooms. Room had a lot of lights and had paintings and mirrors on the wall, making it look decent enough. Also there were a lot of tables and some other sitting areas as well. Toilet had a loose seat, but was fine otherwise and contained the basic amenities. The TV was a bit odd as the frame was compressed somehow and the remote had no way to fix the issue. It made watching sports a bit weird, but unsure if this was just that room or all the rooms. We found some left over food in the fridge in the freezer part and a shirt hanging up in the closet. So seems that maybe the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been. The pool was all indoors and also contained a hot tub. I didn't go in, but my friends did and they didn't have any complaints. Again it's walking distance to the sports area for basketball and football which for those going to games can save you for having to pay for parking if you are staying here and there are some food options close by that are a short walk away giving you some options if you didn't want to drive. In fact it's also easy to walk to the main terminal of the airport as well as there is a sidewalk that goes off the road to the terminal if you can find it that is... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a Dump

Oct 21st, 2019

Avoid the smells, black mold, horrifically stained carpet, scary pool and terrible management. Breakfast was fair, and I can live with dated styles, but the hotel overall was dirty. Take your money elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good economical choice near airport

Jul 31st, 2019

We spent one night here(actually just a few hours) before our early flight home from ABQ. The building seemed older and in need of some TLC. Hallways were narrow and dark—not very inviting. Upon entering the room, there is a small living area with love seat, desk/chair, coffee table, TV, frig, microwave, coffee maker, and small sink. Next is the bathroom with sink outside and toilet, tub, and shower across from it. After this is the bedroom with two queen beds and TV. There were two luggage racks, a bonus since most motels only provide one. Breakfast was available but not at 4:30am when we checked out!! We chose to stay here because of the proximity to the airport. It was an easy drive to the car rental facility. Cost for one night was $70. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not customer friendly

Jun 19th, 2019

I booked this hotel because I had an early flight and the reservation (choice) assured me the airport shuttle started at 4 am. There were other choices but I needed the early shuttle. When I arrived, paid, and tried to book the shuttle the manager said it started at 6am. No flexibility. After expressing grave concern at the misinformation several times, she said they had made a special deal for another couple to leave at 4am and I could grab a lift- no deal for me however, and I will be at the airport two hours early. Not very customer friendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old But Better Than Some

May 9th, 2019

Passing thru Albuquerque we took a chance on a short overnight stay as reviews were "OK" and location easily accessible to/from I-25. Luis at check-in was very kind and helpful but could quickly see this was one of those Choice Hotel locations in need of upgrades and something more than surface cleaning. Elevator carpet needs replacing but at minimum vacuuming, glass entrance doors were dirty, wall decor in breakfast area old/damaged. Suite was roomy but wash cloths almost paper thin.Vanity sink drain was very slow and bathtub spout hung off wall. No complaints about bed comfort. Breakfast options were standard. Personally I'll look elsewhere next time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
