amazing service

Feb 24th, 2020

Laura B., Bianca, Jonathan, Michelle, Reggie, Rosa, are some of the staff that are super courteous and went our of their way to make sure we had a fantastic stay! We stayed there on a one week business trip. It was easy to get to work and the continental breakfast was a great way to start my day. Two weeks later I had to go again and the service was exemplary again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, comfortable hotel

Feb 23rd, 2020

My elderly father and I stayed here in two rooms so we could celebrate his oldest brother's 100th birthday! The hotel was clean, updated and comfortable. Our rooms and bathrooms were kept very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The free hot breakfasts were appreciated, and they had eggs, waffles, cereal, toast and other breakfast foods, although it was the same each day, which could get a little tiring if staying longer than 3 nights. Our rooms (111 and 113) were right next to the door that entered into the lobby, and it squeaked each time someone went through it. This was loud enough to disturb my sleep in the mornings, since my room was right next door to this entrance. A little oil would go a long way to a restful nights sleep. My father needed a handicapped accessible shower, and he was in room 113. He uses a walker and has balance issues, so we were disturbed to see that the handicap shower was really a tiled bathroom with a drain in the floor and a shower and shower curtain at one end (no actual shower stall). This is probably perfect for someone in a wheelchair that doesn't walk, but after showering and using his walker, it made the tile floor slippery since there was no lip to keep the water from running down the grout lines to the rest of the bathroom, including under the sink and in front of the toilet. My father had to be very careful when walking in the entire bathroom. We saw this potential issue as we checked in and I asked that he be moved to another handicapped accessible room with an actual shower unit, but was told no more were available. He is also a smoker, so he had to go out into the back parking lot of the hotel to smoke, about 50 yards from the building, to the back corner where they had set up a bench and a smoker's disposal urn. During one trip out to smoke, he came down the wheelchair ramp using his walker and the front wheels lodged in a crack created between the ramp and the asphalt due to the parking lot being repaved higher than the wheelchair ramp. My father hit this raised asphalt area with the front wheels of his walker and went right over the front of his walker, hitting his left wrist, shoulder, ribs and head very hard on the ground. We took him to the hospital for a CAT scan and X-rays and luckily he wasn't seriously injured, but it made for a scary night and an unexpected trip to the ER. We reported this uneven asphalt surface at the end of the wheelchair ramp to the front desk staff the next day, and hopefully they will fix this situation so no one else falls and injures themselves. All in all, this is a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. I would just suggest, however, that a consultant with the ADA department be brought in to rectify the shower drainage issue and parking lot situation for guests with disabilities. Best Quality Suites I've stayed in.

Feb 20th, 2020

This is the best hotel. Everyone is always smiling, its contagious. I love how the front desk staff greeted me by name and always asked how my day went. FREE Breakfast is included. Loved the options and how they have the fresh strawberries for your waffles. Room was very clean and bed was soo comfortable, I wish i could take it home with me. Location was a plus too. Close to the beach, Zoo and Balboa park. All places I visited while in San Diego. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in town. Thank you to Bianca,Laura and Michelle for being so awesome!! :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed our stay in San Diego

Feb 12th, 2020

We used HotelTonight app to get a good deal on this hotel for our recent trip to San Diego. We were pleased with the location and upkeep of this Quality Suites. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were inside the courtyard area so that we hardly noticed any traffic noise from the street or nearby freeway. The pool area was clean and water temperatures were perfect. The hot breakfast offered many choices and helped us to get a great start to each day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
