Hotel... what a joke! Hostel more like... This hotel/hostel comprises of two buildings, one is definately a hostel and the other (next door) a hostel trying to be a hotel. Reception at second door on street. This "hotel" is dirty, with smaller than small rooms (if you can call it a room), more like a cupboard with a bathroom. ROOM - Wall to wall double bed was the widest part of the room, the bed was fitted right up against a dirty broken window with views to the back of a hotel with a couple of trees., the bed was disgusting and we left itching. Also jammed into the space was a small kids desk and a kids wardrobe - end of space. There is a doors width meter long part of the room which consists of the door to the room itself on one wall and bathroom door on the other. The bathroom i can only guess was what described as a wet room only no one told the tradesmen as the room was level which meant when showering the whole bathroom filled with water. Only two plug sockets (one with a lamp and the other the tv), so to charge two phones you have to unplug one of the electricals and take turns. We did not turn on the tv so dont know if it worked besides we plugged a fan into the socket as there is no air con.. SPACE - My husband and i were unable to get ready at the same time as there was not enough floor space without bumping in to each other. The lift to the room was badly in need of repair and disinfectant. We were only there two nights and had tried to find a room for the second night somewhere else but due to cancelled flights all hotels in the area were fully booked so we had to suffer a second night. 😕 IMPORTANT - the stairs are practically vertical and more like ladders, including the stairs from the street to the reception area/breakfast area (all one roon), in fact reception looked the cleanist room in the hotel although we definately did not eat there. TAXI - from the airport 20 mins and €65 but on return if you book through hotel only €45. LOCATION - 5-10 min walk to nearest bars, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, 25 min walk to Dam Square, Red lLght area, 20 min walk in opposite direction to Galleries and Museums, 10 min walk to original Bulldog coffee shop which is a fantastic experience if you wish to parttake. NB - pay attention when crossing and walking in general as there are bikes and trams everywhere, however hiring a bike is really easy and a great way to exp,ore the city. If you have ever seen the movie, Just Married with Ashton Kutcher this review could be about the hotel in the movie (perfect visual for those who need to see where i am coming from). After reading the reviews and looking at some of the pictures after my wife had booked this hotel all i can say is that i was relieved that our room allthough tiny was clean and in good order. There was very little space and no wardrobe , cud not have the tv and fan on at same time either.bathroom was ok but shower head would drop. Staff where helpful when needed. All in all it was an ok place to get your head down whilst enjoying amsterdam. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed here for 2 nights, all 3 of us have been bitten by the bed bugs, looked up other reviews and many people have had the same problem. Had room number 2 which was at basement level, toilet and shower stank like a sewer. The most annoying thing was that on both nights at 2-3 am they decided it would be a good idea to put the rubbish in the bins ( very loudly ) then they repeated this at around 8 am. My advice would be to go elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Awful hotel - do not stay here!

We booked the small double room here and SMALL is an understatement! Horribly small room, purely just a bed and barely space to open a small hand luggage sized suitcase on the floor. Absolutely no facilities in the room e.g. no mini fridge, no kettle or anything. Bed and small desk that's it. The bed had two small square cushions only. The document in the room listed extra pillows as available at reception however when we asked for them, we were told that the hotel was fully booked so they couldn't get us any. Surely extra pillows should be available to everyone without having to take them from other empty rooms?! The photos listed of the rooms are completely different honestly such a bad representation, complete lie and false advertising. We also had a view of the bins and drains, wasn't expecting the best view ever but this was just disgusting. The bathroom was a wet room style rather than a shower cubicle however the drainage system did not work meaning that even on a short 2 minute show, water FLOODED into the bedroom leaving the carpet soaked, reducing the floor space we had even further. We stayed here 17th June for 3 nights at the beginning of summer and it was around 20 degrees however the bedroom was absolutely boiling and significantly warmer than outside. There is no air con or anything and the window barely opened so it was a gross sweaty room rather than a place to relax after a long day of walking around. Also, there is a €50 deposit payable upon arrival and €10 city tax which you are not informed of at any point. Some of the staff were rude and unhelpful and we really hated staying here. Ruined our trip as we could not enjoy our room when we got back in an evening because there was no space for 2 of us and was ridiculously hot and muggy and the shower leaked everywhere. It was quite filthy and dusty in the room. It was to warm there to sleep. The mattress had a lot of discusting staines under the sheets. All the room was full of dust. The staff was friendly enough though, but it took a long time to check inn.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
