Great location!

Mar 1st, 2020

Rooms basic, but clean, a little outdated, but no complaints. Good value for money. Just 4min walk to theatre and bars, boat trip just outside. Limited (expensive) on street parking. Whole place gurgles and creeks at night, but fine. Stairs like one would find on a boat, good job for creaky lift! Would recommend, and happy to return one day. 👍😀 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cramped outdated ‘Hotel’

Feb 24th, 2020

I was extremely shocked when I arrived at this hotel. After booking our stay on booking.com I was excited as it looked a lovely hotel, spacious with a nice bathroom. This trip was our anniversary so was a special occasion. On arrival to the hotel I was least pleased by the amount of stairs I had to climb due to the lift being out of service. I suffer with really bad asthma so this was not a great start to our stay. On one occasion there was another customer struggling to climb the stairs on crutches which was not nice to see. Once we made it up the steep three flights of stairs to our room, I was astonished at how small and cramped the room was in comparison to the pictures on booking.com. The bathroom was outdated unlike the pictures with plug sockets hanging off the wall. Overall I would not recommend this hotel it seemed more like a hostel and was not up to standard for the prices they charge. I definitely would not book to stay at this establishment again. Read the reviews

Firstly I want to clarify that this review is based on our accomodation that is adjacent to the main hotel building (not aware at the time of booking). Our room was very dated, very dark and hot. A kettle was provided with coffee and tea and cups, however through our entire stay of 5 days this was not replenished nor were the cups washed. The bed was hastily made. The toiletries that they advertise are merely empty containers. On the plus side the shower was hot and fresh towels were provided every day. Breakfast (in the adjacent building) was very very average, nothing to rave about and definitely not worth the money. The staff appear very aloof but I think this is the general attitude in some countries. The worst part of our stay was when we left our hotel room one evening only to find human excrement along the landing. On reporting this to reception it appeared that a random person had accessed the building. Although this was cleared up it left an unpleasant odour for a few days. Other reviews have described this place as a Hostel, I would definitely agree that it's not worthy of its 3 stars. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed for three nights

Had a few days in Amsterdam. This simple hotel is in an old canal house. The room are small, but adequate. Absolutely excellent breakfast. You can eat vast quantities. The staff are really friendly as well. The hotel is very centrally located, and so we walked everywhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Satisfied

Feb 5th, 2020

Was worried about booking after seeing bad reviews BUT.. hotel was small but nice & clean enough to stay in, only using hotel as a place to stay as we were out every day. Rooms were cleaned and had new towels every day. Staff very friendly/helpful. Good location for everything around 20 minute walk to the central part. I found that most of these reviews are just people nitpicking and being too fussy.. if your looking for somewhere just to put your head down at night then it’s an ideal hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
