Quirky hotel with nice staff
Feb 16th, 2020
Double Room as spacious, location was close to restaurants and stores, clean bathroom. Our room door had a hole where the RFID ID scanner was supposed to be. The hotel should have fixed that. It wasn't a big deal but in terms of the presentation of the hotel it wasn't a good look. Overall, it felt like a hotel that belonged in Richmond. Felt like a nice blend between modern and classic. Great location for Richmond marathon start but...

...not for the marathon finish. Quirk is less than half a mile to the start for both half and full marathons, but it's over a mile from the finish line. Which matters a LOT after you've just finished 26.2 miles and it's cold and windy and it's an uphill return to your hotel and your legs are cramping and you've got two race blankets and a jacket on but still can't get warm. That said, it was super nice to not have to use the porta-potties at the start, and not have to worry about transportation. And it's not like the Quirk can do anything about its location anyway. They did just about everything else right for the marathon runner, which I'm writing the review for. Big hot showers, cozy beds, walking distance to good eats, and receptive guest services. And it's got enough vintage, elegance and hometown charm to wow its guests and convince me to stay another night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
My review of the Quirk Hotel in Richmond, VA.
Feb 3rd, 2020
I was glad that the Quirk hotel in Richmond, Virginia had valet parking, because it was not in the best neighborhood although I felt safe inside the hotel. The room was clean but only had a shower - there was no bath tub. The hotel employees were nice. Dinner at the restaurant was expensive and the portions were small. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Quirky yes, but truly special

What a nice change from the normal hotel experiences. The Quirk is a beautiful historical building. It has interesting art, it's dog friendly, has big rooms, and a polite and engaging staff. The location is perfect for visiting VCU or downtown. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Boutique hotel in RVA with great food and service!

A lovely stay at the Quirk for a quick weekend getaway with spouse. Central location with many restaurants and bars nearby. They also offer a shuttle within 3 mile radius. Friendly staff at checkin and a light filled open lobby. Rooms are spacious and not cluttered with furniture. A funky, pink theme throughout the whole hotel with unique art on the walls. Great coffee in lobby restaurant and nice cocktail list at the bar. Did not eat at Maple & Pine but heard only great things about it. I’m definitely coming back in the spring/summer to check out the rooftop bar!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
