Home away from home

Gorgeous hotel decor, beds and rooms are extremely comfortable. The staff was absolutely fantastic. It’s close to everything on the north side you want to visit . Safe location as well. Would 10/10 stay again!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disappointed with our stay :(

Sep 6th, 2020

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night as a little getaway. We were surprised (not in a good way) and disappointed that the only special thing the hotel offered us was 2 drink coupons- no room upgrades, no extras. The check in was fine, but again, nothing special at all like I've seen at other hotels. We were not even offered to pay extra for anything to make our stay better. I've stayed at hotels that made birthdays feel more exciting than our actual wedding night at the Radisson Blu Aqua. For that reason alone, I wish we would have chosen another hotel. The rooms were very mediocre. We paid a lot of extra money to upgrade to a king corner room with a balcony. The bathroom was pretty worn down and dingy. There were limited toiletries and no bathrobes, which I always look forward to at a nice hotel. The bed was comfortable, but the room had not been cleaned very well as there was someone else's sock under the bed. The view from the balcony was nice, but there were no chairs on it, so there was no point to having the balcony. We paid a lot of extra money to stand and look out a few times, which we would not have done if we knew we wouldn't be able to enjoy any time out there. If the service had been excellent, we easily could have overlooked the mediocre room and if the room had been incredible, we would have happily looked past mediocre service. However, we paid lot of extra money for a below average stay all around. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this hotel and we were not satisfied with the place we chose for such a special occasion, especially since there are so many choices downtown. Mixed feelings about this hotel

Aug 25th, 2020

I booked this hotel specifically because it had an outdoor pool (in downtown Chicago!) and it has a large and well-equipped gym. For those reasons this hotel was perfect for my recent 4 day mini vacation to Chicago. I paid more than I usually do for a 4* in downtown Chicago but with the weather forecast showing 85* and sunny all four days I figured it would be worth the splurge. It was. The pool is large enough to accommodate many guests and the sundeck is wide with plenty of chaise loungers available. It is surrounded by nicely landscaped foliage and shrubs. The best part is floating in the pool and looking up at the hotel's unique architectural styling...it seems to have been designed for this view in particular. Floating in a pool surrounded by skyscrapers was a first for me and I will seek out this hotel for similar escapades in summers to come. The interior design of the hotel is not to my taste (at all) with pretty garish color scheme and flashy (trashy) design choices and materials in the room. It made me think if a mob bosses mistress was given the task of decorating with a big budget and no oversight. That being said the bed, pillows and linens were high quality and very comfortable, the AC did it's job with very little noise, and the elevators were fast and efficient. The gym was great. Large and very well equipped. There's even an indoor half basketball court. Location just south of the river and a short walk from Millenium Station and the Mag Mile were the icing on the cake. I'm hurt but Radisson is paid.

Aug 20th, 2020

check in was fine, value a little high but hotel had everything we wanted so we went with it. Trip was fine until second night, around midnight I tried to adjust the blinds to the window. A large piece of aluminum trim fell and cut my head and arm open. Not only has Radisson failed to contact me (I've done all the calling) I was told their insurance would be contacting me , but I haven't heard a word from anybody. Terrible experience. Ill take my scarred face and arm elsewhere next time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great city get away - beautiful outdoor space

Aug 20th, 2020

Would recommend this hotel for families or groups looking for a city experience with a self contained outdoor space. Balcony rooms are worth it! Close to all that Chicago offers, yet staying on property was enough. Only drawback was the room seemed worn and not the luxury what I have experienced in this price point. Very clean.
