Great Hotel

Jul 4th, 2019

Good hotel, amazing place just in the city center. Close to all the attractions of the city. Not far from the airport. Restaurants and Bar close to the hotel and all nice. Staff is simply amazing. Experience to do again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best location for a visit to Gdansk. It is in the heart of the old town, easy to walk to all the sights. At the same time the hotel is located in kind of an inner courtyard, making it protected from noise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not 5 stars, not very pleasant at all

Jul 1st, 2019

First of all, the hotel is not actually on the famous pedestrian street. It seems to have a cafe that is attached to the hotel, which does indeed face that street, but the entrance to the hotel is from a small back street, and the view you are likely to get is of a not so enticing courtyard. You can forget the view, because the main building does not offer one. Secondly, while the room I got seemed renovated fairly recently, one could notice the smell of an older building, both in the room and throughout the hotel. Thank God for air conditioner, which pumped air into the room all day long. This old building smell may be common for the buildings in the old town, but I think it needs to be pointed out. I was not looking forward to returning to my room at the end of the day, that is for sure. It did not feel wholesome. The room was also very dark, because the window was relatively small, and to avoid people from the courtyard looking into the room, I had to have the curtains on all the time. That made staying in the room quite uncomfortable. There is another issue with the room: the lights. Basically, you can choose only the light from the bedside lamp, which will be quite poor, especially considering the curtains would be on, or very bright light, coming from a light tube that will blind you in an instant if you turn your head towards it. There's nothing in-between: super bright, or dim. If you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, that bright light will pierce your eyes. Also, I would like to point out that room service seems to ignore daily cleaning of rooms from around noon and for the rest of the day. If you were busy or sleeping until 12 AM, or even 11 AM, and you had the 'do not disturb' sign, chances are they will never drop by during that day to bring fresh towels and do the cleaning. This is unheard of in a 5-star hotel. Another funny thing is that they seem eager to save money on soap, so if you use up half of your shower gel, they might not bring you a new one, because they expect you to manage with the other half of the bottle for another day. It's a minor thing, but again something you do not expect in a 5-star hotel. I would also like to point out that I received no bathrobe and no slippers. How is that even possible? Finally, do not expect assistance with anything from the management, unless it is to show you something on the city map, or perhaps call a taxi. I made three formal queries, and received no help with any of them. Overall, I would say that this hotel is not a 5 star one by a long shot, and I would not recommend it, especially taking into account the price. I booked the hotel because of the many positive reviews, but in my opinion these reviews are misleading. I say this as someone who travels a lot, and has plenty of experience with hotels. The discrepancy between the marketed image of the hotel/the price and actual experience is not insignificant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect hotel in the perfect location

Jun 29th, 2019

We recently spent 4 days in Gdansk and were very pleased to have chosen this hotel. The location is unbeatable, adjacent to the Long Market and adjacent to the old city gates. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds, and very quiet for sleeping. The breakfast has many offerings plus you can order eggs or pancakes from the kitchen as part of the breakfast buffet deal. The Radisson Blu is a great choice in Gdansk! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Central and comfortable

Jun 28th, 2019

Central and comfortable hotel, it is close to all sights in the old town. Very quiet (had a room facing a back alley) and good sized room and bathroom. Nice staff and good breakfast. Good value for money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
