Not a perfect stay
Nov 16th, 2020
Check in: receptionist asked us if we wanted to have a garden room or a city view room. We opted for a city view at 1st floor. She forgot I was a Gold member, not a big problem but when in the room we had a call saying they were upgrading us. The upgrade was the same room but on 4th floor. Generally, for Gold members in a not so busy hotel, you can do a bit more to recognize my loyalty to your brand. FYI: room on 1st floor had a fruit basket for us, room at 4th floor did not and we did not see it anymore.. Credit card guarantee: receptionist took my card for guarantee as usual, just to find out once in the pool that my girlfriend needed a shower cap. They sold it one to us for 50 lira, asked to put it on my room but no...they did not set up a credit line when I checked in, so I had to go to the room, come down and pay 50 lira = 5€. Sane it happened for a tea in the evening, very annoying as it's very handy to place charges on room bill vs paying all the times...never happened to me before Room: room was nice, nothing to say except of two things: if you offer a Nespresso machine, try at least to offer original capsules, I dont think should be a cost problem for such properties. Room temperature was very hote even with heating off, we had to open the window but road is quite busy, so not ideal. All in all, nice location as I just love Beyoglu and Pera districts. Disgrace for Radisson
Oct 8th, 2020
I've stayed in many Radisson hotels worldwide, but I wonder how this one was even accepted into their group. We stayed here after our 10 day western Turkey tour, and it was meant to be a cherry on the cake of that trip. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment and I regret I didn't book the fantastic Hagia Sophia Hilton mansions again (please, read the review of that outstanding hotel), like I did for the beginning of our tour. In order to be more special, I booked the Junior suite and we got the "Pera Suite" on the top floor. The suite was nicely decorated and had a really nice view towards the Golden Horn and the old town south of it. That's all of the good about this hotel. Location is good, but beware it's directly on a very noisy, crowded and polluted street (3 lanes each way, 6 in total). Everything else was BAD, and in some cases I was shocked with terrible service and behavior of the personnel: - imagine a supposedly 5 star hotel, where in junior suite they don't give glasses but paper cups, - they don't provide slippers nor bathrobe, - mini bar was empty even worse the fridge did NOT work so we couldn't cool our own drinks, - drainage in bathtub was blocked and filled with water, - breakfast was below average, rather a 2,3 star hotel, certainly not 5. I reported the mini bar and drainage problem to reception, they promised to fix it, but it never happened. If you're booking this property for its pool, DO NOT. The pool is opening at 9am, too late and it is not ready then, but they start to clean it and prepare then. They ask for a swim cap. I didn't have one so wanted to buy it, but they didn't want to give it to me until I went back to my room and brought the money. Such harassment is happening in supposedly a 5 star hotel at 120 euros night for a 1,50 euro cap!!! Also the pool is very small. When I addressed that to the staff they were very arogant, even started to shout on me - totally unacceptable and rude behavior I was shocked with. I rarely write 1 star reviews - of mine 3.300+ reviews there're less than 20, but this hotel deserves it. All in all, not I can recommend this hotel, but stay away from it. This was my 6th time in Istanbul and I can assure you, you can find a much better one for double less the money. Such service is a shame for Radisson. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Well, imagine that hotel is almost empty at the beginnig of July and the A/C is not working while you can't open any windows because of the built of rooms and building fully window covered so takes huge amount of warm to inside and nobody helps you properly to handle A/C problem. We informed this problem on our first 30 min but nothing changed, when we came back at the evening rooms was same , warm, but one room's AC instead of cooling it was warming! So you imagine how horrible it was. We informed reception 3 times, no any results. But still the lady from reception and young men from the Bar was very nice, kind. It was a shame for me because I brought my friends from another country with me and let them to stay here as my decision, I thought it's Radisson Blu so no suprise but I am ashamed to my friends and they are suprised with me and Radisson... Great hotel in a great location!

Would highly recommend this hotel, the location was great, a few mins walking distance to main Istiklal street. The rooms were a good size and the beds were heavenly to sleep in. Would like to especially mention Sarp who was a very attentive server at breakfast pretty much most days, always greeting you with a smile and had great recommendations. The breakfast variety was also very good. Would definitely stay there again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
